1) Colors are $15, you can use it an infinite number of times - if traded, color is lost

2) Colors are $1, you can use it 5 times - if traded, color is lost

3) Colors are $1, you can use it 1 time, color cannot be changed - if traded, color remians - has a flavor text like mirrored saying it is always that color.

This is (roughly) what I would want to see from Dyes.

I seriously hope dyes and other subtle cosmetics are not anywhere near that expensive. Those aren't microtransactions.

I dunno, I think infinite-use dyes are worth 15$.

@Phaeded

I pulled those numbers out of thin air, I'm sure they'd have to be adjusted to market demand. Those numbers are just what I would personally pay for something like infinite-use dyes or tradable dyes. In another post I said I'd pay $50 for a microtransaction that makes the Witch permanently be floating off the ground - would everybody pay for that? No, but I think it's nifty (and I only ever play Witch) so I'm highly interested in it.

Cosmetics are essentially real money manifested in game. If they're tradeable, then our economy would get ***ked. My guess is no.

How? Does it matter if I buy a cosmetic thingy and use it myself, or if I buy a cosmetic thingy and hand it to you? Either way, GGG are making money on it. What do they care who of us pays for the thing, as long as the thing is paid for? And as for the economy in-game, I really don't see what the big deal is.

If this is what you genuinely think then you don't understand how the economy would respond at all. If you could trade micros then they would have a trade value of whatever they cost in real money, as such you'd effectively be trading real money for in-game items. It doesn't matter that they are cosmetic, their value could be traded towards items that are not.

If I can buy some ice effect and trade it for orbs then I've just paid real money for orbs, haven't I? If they let cosmetics be tradeable then they might as well scrap anything remotely anti-p2w (losing a huge number of customers).

This game is exciting firstly because the content is excellent and secondly because it is not P2W in the slightest. I can't think of many if any F2P online games with purely cosmetic items on sale. I mean League of Legends is almost thereish but there are undoubtedly beneficial micros. This game could potentially become a flash point for the future of F2P gaming. If GGG can prove that a non-P2W F2P game can exist then the whole market is about it get a whole lot better for anyone that gives a crap about good games.
I would expect dyes to cost be maybe 50-100 points for each colour, once purchased you could use that colour as often as you wanted & dye would be removed when trading the item.

just saying :)

I am not that sure if this game will suport colouring by dye, like in d3. Just saying.

if the stuff from the micro transactions would be tradeable, it would make the game pay2win.
