Killing Dominus as a Summoner Witch

You might want to try tossing a rejuvenation totem into the middle of your horde.

Dunno if it would be enough to keep them alive, or if it's only useful between fights... Might be something to try though.

Get dualcurse.
Try Vulnerability + Enfeeble, Bear trap and fire trap for killing first form. Dunno about second form - maybe Enfeeble + Punishment?
Act 3 in general seems to be very anti-summoner. Seems like every other zone - there were common mobs that would obliterate my entire army. I'm having to resummon my hoard every 3 steps.
I believe there's no way to kill the last form of dominus as pure summoner on normal (and maybe cruel) without dying. The summoner is squishy, the minions can't survive the damage and can't deal a lot of damage themselves, there are tons of adds including titty bitches going after you, which you can't kill fast, and of top of that we have bleeding. It's just impossibiru!

I almost decided to drop my summoner witch after that fight (suicide bombed him using ~15 portals in domination). It's just that baaaad.
I'm playing a fairly pure summoner, 5 zombies, 8 skeletons, and 2 spectres at level 38. I have minion instability, so they all blow up at low life. I use fireball and arc when I have time to cast. I went against Dominus today for the first time. Spanked all his little unique buddies without issue, spanked his totem summoning form without issue. I had his ugly rain-calling form down 2/3 of the way without a problem. Then I hit that brick wall. Minions started dying almost instantly and weren't hurting Dominus at all. I was taking constant damage even when it wasn't raining, Dominus was on the other side of a wall, and no other enemies were close. I survived everything up to then without even being close to death, and then I died three times in three minutes. I'd say there was a bug in the game, but I don't know why it would have happened there. I think it just didn't like the fact I was going to whup its nasty little butt, and so they ramped it up to cruel difficulty just out of spite.
Sry for being off topic slighty but does anyone know if there is way to make minions survive Dominious on Merciless?

I mean my minions have all reached the ress cap without ele resist in the link, since I use Necro Aegis + Purity od Fire + Lightning + Ice + Elements.
My auras alone give allmost +90% allres.

I have 0 trouble with the mobs he sends out be4 the fight and I can kill his second form in mere seconds, ht eproblem is the high templar form.

Its really annoying cause my minions never die of elemental dmg at all, their nemeiss is ususally burst physicall dmg wich is why I use a 1500 armour shield wich helps a lot.
Dominious is a sole exeption because that lightning beam he shoots is meant to be evaded no matter the life/resist but minions don´t do that...

Is there any shield that adds max lightning resist?
Best way for an easy kill on Dominus:

Spoiler
Use the Notice board and get in a party *wink*

your problem should be the gem lvl and your flasks, i do not lose a single minion on dominus, the whole fight should take em about 1:30~2 mnin (3 stages), with 4 instant/bubling animation flasks my minions dont have to evade his lightning beam (but you must spam the flasks fast enough),my BMs are not even capped as i only run purity of elements wich should give them like ~50% lightning resist. i dont use necro aegis.

the shield you're looking for is this:

stop being a fool.....you cannot level as a "pure" summoner. you can build your tree that way, but for your summons to carry you, you must carry them to endgame first. your gem/gear setup shouldn't be summon centric yet. pick up their slack and do your own fighting. a basic zombie-spectre-life in a +1/2 minion helm should be all you need. 4th slot can either be skels or blind, if you wanna run skel totem

fight with abilities that don't need a lot of damage scaling from the tree, like flameblast, EK, EA, FP, fire traps, etc. you won't be able to idle around and let your minions do everything until you get to hell solar 2 for curtains at least

I also don't understand why you already have 8 zombies on nemesis. that's fine on sc, but on nem, you should really be worry about your own survivability first

EDIT: alternatively, since you're already maxed on summons, you can try my secret weapon...dps skels. they're horribly underrated, and do exponentially more dps than zombies. run a leveled clarity, and do skel-life-damage-blind(or another dps gem) and summon them yourself. you can put them behind dom while he's lit beaming and they'll stab his friggin balls off. it's what I did on my sc summoner, who also rushed maxed summons and skipped self survivability. ...dom never stood a chance against dps skels

you should reroll anyways though. you're gonna rip if you don't stack your own survival first. ...probably to the very first storm herald you see

As the title indicates I'm having a hard time with the Dominus fight.
I'm currently playing on Nemesis and intend to stay there, so any advice would be highly welocme.

My build is a full Summoner Witch, currently lvl 42. I have most Minion nodes, perma curse und MInstability. Life&ES both 500, ca. 50% all-res, can summon 8 zombies(multi, dmg, life), 10 skeletons (totem) and 3 spectres (lifeleech, dmg, burning). Dmg skills are arc, fireball, firestorm, and curse of coice is enfeeble.

With a little caution I was able to clear the rest of the game with relative ease, but the Dominus fight is a brick wall for me. ALL minions literally die in a second in the first phase of the fight already, despite having more health than me. Not enough adds are dead to summon reinforcements, my totems keep getting focused, and I have to dodge attacks quite a bit.

I even tried to portal out, go to the solaris temple for reinforcements and portal back in.
Everything was dead on arrival. I suspect MI might be the problem here, since exploding minions seem to damage other minions.

Can you think of a legitimate way to win the fight with this character, or should I just quit and look for a group?

I actually did this for my first time yesterday.
I died the first attempt, (in Nemesis, sadly) after getting his second form down to about 1/5 health but my second time in...Standard I managed to take him down successfully.

I could summon 8 zombies, with life and elemental resistance; 2 spectres and 10 skeletons with speed and duration (manual cast). I also had a rejuvenation totem and animate guardian with minion life linked.
I had no curses.
I do not have Minion Instability.

Basically the initial onslaught with those unique soldiers and the mage involved the zombies dying out quickly, but I managed to get the two soldiers down to about half life, then dealing with them by tossing a couple of skeletons and pelting the one with a few fireballs, then running again.
Octavia Sparkfist I handled basically by tossing a couple of skeletons on top of her whenever I saw her as I was running from the two soldiers, and eventually just drowning her in skeletons and fireballs, recasting skeletons whenever a couple died.

A couple of times I portaled out to refill my pots and go to the Ebony Barracks to quickly get some more zombies and a pair of the mage spectres, since it was quick and they'd die quickly anyway.

Dominus himself was painful.

First phase was putting out skeletons behind him, keeping out of those ice-beam totems and putting skeletons behind him again if he attacked those first skeletons or myself. I also used fireballs to help the skeletons.
I'd have been better off portalling a couple more times to get more zombies but stuck it out anyway.

There was a fair bit of running around during this phase, though I usually stayed at the lower part of the tower, so Dominus's curse didn't bring many enemies to attack me.

Just before his final phase there's plenty of time to summon fresh zombies from the bodies lying about. (I'd occasionally spend a little bit taking out some of his summoned minions to get some flask charges and corpses during the first phase.)

Since I had a solid mass of zombies and skeletons for him to attack I was able to stay inside the shield behind Dominus during the second phase.

I refreshed the skeletons and zombies whenever any died and had the rejuvenation totem up. And normal Dominus was defeated.

Nothing but blues.
