LESS vs REDUCED

First of all it's less, not reduced. Second, the point was that IF IT WAS reduced it would be more powerful. And third, as others have brought up, for most players 20% reserved life for one aura is quite a bit even with the increase to life nodes.
i meant less, i blame the wine. and yes of course it would have been more powerful if it was reduced, it was established in the first post

im quite sure you can push it below 20% per aura, but it would require some serious investment

Previously BM builds had 3 flat auras, wehre non-BM were running 5-7 whatever auras.

Now BM can safely get 1 Aura, while non-BM can run 2-3 (ish) depending on how much they are committing to running the auras. Also remove purity, bad aura is bad. Aside over. BM can run a 60% aura and purity if they like for a total 30-40% life, which makes them *just* a bit squishier than before patch without having made any enemies harder.

And remember the scaling on gem slots. That non-BM node user is trading a gem slot for another aura and defenses, the BM user is trading life for more damage (and more sockets overall). How fair that trade is can be debated, but auras should NOT be a non-issue for a build that has no resource management AND full slots (other builds get one or the other, not both).
Obviously it's situational, but as I look at my current main character, even 2 auras is way better than just 1. With my IB facebreaker marauder, I run determination and hatred (or grace for more survivability or haste for speed but less powerful hits) and purity to get my resists maxed. I have 5K life, 20K armor and 20K dps with maxed res and 70% block (soon to be maxed at 75% in a few levels). I wouldn't be able to do that with BM passive in its current form.

Obviously there are examples where it works either way. In this case Added Fire Damage in place of BM gem and still running determination would get part of the way there but I'd have to add purity to get maxed resists because of missing slots with facebreaker and BoR and the result would be lower life. That was my point.

Hallmark of a good keystone: having to think before you get it.

Not trying to go back and forth, but it's more like "Having to think before definitely not getting it." :\
So basically you only evaluate any build as a solo build.

100% yes. I'm not willing to compromise my survivability because someone moves too far away and coordinating auras with people isn't going to work with randos.
Then you're SoL, because reducing auras per person was intended to make them a meaningful decision point and facilitate coordinated parties.

It was plain dumb that players could use ewvrery aura that seemed even mildly useful for their build. Reducing it to 1 or 2 makes auras a decision point. BM can run a "base" number of auras safely and doesn't need tweaking for more auras, if anything the ability to get past 3 auras needs to be looked at.
