error: Received HTTP 404 while downloading

Does anyone know of a solution for the problem. Just got it myself. Previous patches were downloaded successfully.
What wrong with the client? I'm getting the same error. And NO I won't download steam or any other Adware for that matter.

I am getting the same problem.... How can we resolve this?
Sounds like a DNS issue. What is your DNS server? Set your DNS to 8.8.8.8 do an Ipconfig /flushdns and then try to download again!
The DNS flush didn't work unfortunately ...

This seems absolutely absurd, I too - much like the others posters here have said - have had ZERO issues with patching so far and then this new patch comes out and I have not been able to patch.

Now I am told I need a VPN connection because after a year of playing this game now somehow my ISP and other's ISP have a problem - are we really sure this is the issue???

Pretty frustrating - might have to get it on steam...

EDIT: Steam worked fine so it appears to be a problem with the Client.exe version and not the ISP as far as I understand it...

Pretty sure it's the client. I've been able to patch PoE everytime in open/closed beta without a single problem. Now I'm downloading 5 - 10mb before I have to restart again for the 1000th time.

If you have Steam I recommend that, it downloaded the 4.5GB in less than 20 minutes for me and now I can play it fine...

Its not your ISP, it is definitely the client.

Not all people in the world have that awesome net speed as yours... Just sayin' :D

@All:

Disable/shutdown all devices that are connected to your router (Phones, laptops, ipads etc)
Asking everyone to stop stealing my net at home somehow fixed the problem...for now. While I had a working connection... I think the client patcher got errors with the fluctuating connection speeds.

Haha no certainly I was not implying that - its not always that fast, but getting the right server on steam can make a HUGE difference.

I was merely saying that if people are struggling with patching via the client they may have more luck just re-downloading from scratch with Steam :)
