I'm so Glad that I declined...

Hey! Did ya'll know that a patch that NOBODY has experienced yet has already ruined the game?

Cool story bro!

Is there anything you actually agree with in this game?
Return to this flameless sunder
Where exiles burn and the joyless wander;
Frozen lore beneath chaotic thunder,
Dominus returns to send us under.

We are complaining about things that are written down. There is no maybe, or perhaps. It will happen as it is written down in the patch notes.

No need to play it to know it will be bad.

Have you ever been shot before? Then how do you know it hurts?

I hope you see the logic here.

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

I play solo mostly and I don't see all this end of the world stuff that people keep going on about.
Can you explain it for me?

New auras + new IIR = group play. There is nothing to explain, really, it's all written down right here.

And auras have the bigger part in that equation.

Yes, let's just casually forget that a *LOT* of the nodes got buffed so it's easier to stack health and damage for a lot of builds. That helps solo play more than groups as usually people don't have problems staying alive in groups and the increased damage is offset by the mobs having more HP in groups now. So unless you're telling me the party-aura interaction is going to increase my party DPS by more than 50% it's still a nerf for groups.

Let's also forget that IIQ is better than IIR overall so the 'buff' as you call it is actually a nerf for the most part. It could perhaps be argued that it pulls about even if you are only interested in selling rares and uniques, but it's not.

Relative to each other there's not much difference between the balance of solo and group from what we had before. They traded some things around but overall neither has a huge advantage over the other that they didn't already have in some form.

The insane customization, in both the tree and your gear.

I like the gameplay itself, of course. I love how insanely hard it is to get to the high levels, and how hard it is to get good gear without buying it(though most of the time everyone just buys it which makes this one kind of redundant)
A lot of others to im not going to waste time typing.
Most of all I just love playing the game.

There are things I dont like though, mostly trading and grouping being so absolutely necessary to competing with the top group of players.

Still, thats not actually relevant here. You did not or could not answer my question.

I feel you... I almost decided to go for the $12,500.00 pack, but I decided to give it a test run first
I almost decided to donate $250,000 to GGG, but that was before I saw the patch notes. When I saw the balance changes I recoiled in disgust and literally vomited in my mouth. It was just enough vomit to make me think I could swallow it without attracting attention to myself, but some of the puke seeped out of the corner of my mouth and landed on my shirt. I unfortunately caught the attention of my coworker and we maintained eye contact while I swallowed the rest of the vomit that was in my mouth. That shit burned going down my throat and I was unable to mask the discomfort. There was no mistaking it, my coworker knew exactly what I had just done -- swallowed my own vomit.

Thanks a lot GGG
IMO, we should all keep in mind that these changes are the first step in addressing some long standing issues that have been discussed in the past. These changes are not meant to be the perfect absolute final.

Take the aura change for example. The cost may be too huge, the buff may not be enough to compensate, we don't know yet. And we will never know until you actually implement these changes, set a value as a baseline, and see where to go from there. So yeah these changes may not be perfect, players may find negative consequences from it. The dev will then tweak them accordingly.

The game system is complex and balancing everything is a huge task. There is no way you can make a change and expect it to be perfect. But you have to take that huge first step before you can arrive at the positive result.

So I hope everyone would just keep calm, play the game when the patch is out, and then give your feedback.
