The best they can hope to do is attract some new players who's gaming experience hasn't been totally ruined by a "patch".

Those "new" players are going to join a game where there are already legacy unique items that don't drop anymore that they'll never get. Judging from a different angle, if I was looking at starting a new game, and I find the economy already a trainwreck, with tons of items ill never get, it sorta takes away from the thrill of the MF hunt, knowing with absolute certainty there will be items I'll never obtain. Part of the thrill of the MF hunt, is knowing that a mirror, shavvrones, soul taker, kaoms, etc might drop any time.

People like keeping what they've accumulated and not starting over every 4 months because they've been dumped into a league that GGG has made every attempt to wreck the economy in. Allowing legacy unique items is directly advocating the destruction of that league's economy.

If they were at least someone smart, they'd have the new leagues after 1.0 dump into a "New" standard league, and old standard will become "Legacy".

I can't say there is a single fucking change, not a single one on the patch notes that I even agree with. In fact I disagree with all the changes so vehemently that I've given all my items away and quit the game.

They aren't leaving many favorable options for the ones who don't like starting over every 4 months.

Most of these races they're doing only get a few hundred players tops, which is a small % of the community.

Even when anarchy first started, standard league was still the bigger of the 2 leagues at any point in time.

Are you suggesting its smart to take the biggest league in the game and just abandon it to the dump and assume those players are going to just start the new leagues anyway? Judging by the way GGG is moving the direction of the game, they're the ones who are generalizing more than anyone.
