Floating Combat Text, on release?

As with any other issue of a similar nature, GGG struggles profusely with allowing the play to choose this sort of thing.

Remember the whole "we dont want to give you loot options" ordeal?

This is just ridiculous. One hit to get an enemy HP bar to 80% and one hit to get a higher level enemy HP to 90%. Does that mean my character's damage is lower than before?

To me, floating combat text is a must in action RPG games, like this one.

I really wish they will add FCT in near future.

I mean with just one hit, the enemy hp down to 80%, not by 80%. The same goes for 90%.

yes i wish they add it and not optional like health bars, and for whole party, so we can mesure our e-penis. (or to kill people when you have all your zombies, specters, and skellies summoned :D)
Hear this words but once and they will echo in your nightmares forever!

You missed his point. He was pointing out a part of your message where you said "Higher level enemy" in regards to damage inflicted. Damage over the enemy in this case would not solve your problem, this is more about general game mechanics.

Definitely should not do that, such feature would be optional and individual.

Then perhaps both of you didn't understand my statement. Everything I said are correct but not to mention grammatical errors because English is not my native.

What I mean is when you one-shot an enemy, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are a better damage dealer than another player who needs ten hits to kill an enemy. Maybe the enemy that he/she referring to is more powerful (more health/more defense) than the "your" enemy. But when you deal only one damage but the other player did 100 damages, then there is a great possibility that he/she is a better damage dealer.

Damage Text won't change anything in that matter. He will see a Different number than you, but you still won't know how to compare since you still don't know if the Monster is higher level.

Nope, GGG has stated before that they do not like floating damage text. So you can dream on :D.

GGG didn't like permanent loot allocation either, but they had to add it. They must bend to the will of the community. But to be honest, floating combat text is probably not very high on the wanted list.
