IIR gem and burning damage
|
the problem with burning dmg and any other dot dmg is that they dont "hit" they degen hp
qantity and rarity gem work on hit so for now they dont work with any dot at all this might be changed in future |
|
|
What is the reason for not having it work ?

Yeah in my EA I removed the IIR and IIQ gems cause I rely on burning.

" I'd like to know that too, so we can therefore know whether to expect it to change in the future. IGN: PurpleTrapperPuppet / Perandus

Bump for people smarter than us!
tl;dr........is IIR gem not working on ignite damage intended? Why? If not, can we expect it to change? IGN: PurpleTrapperPuppet / Perandus

does the same thing happen with the quant gem? if so its probably because the burn isnt the skill
I’d rather die on my feet

Item Quantity/Rarity - gamepedia:
"Increases the quantity/rarity of items dropped by monsters killed by the supported skill. The bonus from this gem does not currently apply to enemies killed by degeneration or damage over time effects,[1][2] although this is planned to be fixed in the future." So direct damage only but there is hope :) I AM MAD

" reason is in the game's mechanics. if you land a killing blow or a spell on a monster the game can directly identify the user and the spell which killed the monster and assign all quality/rarity effects. if the monster has several damage over time effects on it from the same or several players (poison, burning) the game cannot determine the dot effect which eventually killed the monster as they're both degrading the monsters health at the same time, it can only identify the player who applied his dot effect first. so rarity/quantity from gear always applies because their effects are valid for all user actions and the user can be identified by the game. iiq and iir from gems can't be applied for dot attacks because they're bound to the specific skill which is indeterminable. my solution for the game engine would be to roll a 50/50% chance between all dot spells applied on the monster's death and use this skill and attached iiq and iir for the rewards calculation. though it would add another random effect on the game. fine by me. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Yeah, I would think that would be fine. My (selfish) priority is that it works for solo. You know, switch out a gem for IIR when just mucking around farming, and take it back out when mapping seriously. It's not like we would ever go a serious map viable MF ignite character as we obviously wouldn't cull! IGN: PurpleTrapperPuppet / Perandus
