Scrolls of Wisdom drops too low or only bad luck?
|
Hi,
I find myself constantly unable to identify items that drop, more so buy anything, because I rarely get scrolls of wisdom. My stash is full of unidentified items and I'm throwing blues out because I can't ever hope to identify them. Other gold items drop just as few but that's ok I think. Scrolls of wisdom are different because they're constantly needed, they should drop more, it sucks to get a present and not be able to open it :P This thread has been automatically archived. I would suggest that you don't identify as many items. Blues, generally, aren't worth it unless you really need an upgrade.
At level ~35, I have a few hundred of each scroll stashed away. It's starting to look like wasted space, since they drop regularly after the 20's or so. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus. First in the credits! Last edited by WhiteBoy#6717 on Aug 29, 2011, 12:42:08 PM

It was slow for the first 20 levels or so, after that I started getting so many I had to put stack after stack in my stash. I don't identify most blues though, just jewelry, flasks, belts, and items my current character can use -even then only if they have favorable sockets.

Don't identify everything you see, only the stuff you actually need.
I got like 16 stacks of them by now, there's way too many of them and no way to turn them into higher currency, it's crap. Joined Closed Beta 20th August 2011

I just got out of the underground prison of Act 1 and my char is at level 13 I think.
If the drop rate changes (by act or by level) I think it should be the contrary: more drops initially and less afterwards. At the beginning you NEED better items and blue ones are good. In fact, I still get normal items better than mine constantly, because I've got only 2 rares. I don't agree that I shouldn't spend scrolls on blue items, simply because that's not fun for me. I like to know what I'm getting, even if the odds of it being garbage are high. If I use axes and swords mainly, I may not bother to identify a staff, but I want to identify every sword and axe that I get. Also, when we get selling enabled, I guess identified items will sell be worth a lot more than non-identified ones. |

They need someone to identify in the towns or some sort of identify post. Then you dont have to drop as many wisdom scrolls that may lag the game. Every bit counts!

Once we have the sell vendors, we'll have some way to get ID scrolls by trading in unwanted Magic items. This should mean that you'll always have a way to identify things. At the moment, the drop chance for the scrolls is much higher than it normally would be, hence the huge number of scrolls you get at higher levels, to compensate for the lack of vendors.

I think it is just bad luck, I have two stacks of them on my guy. Try getting some gear with Increased Quantity of item drops, it might help your cause.
I unfortunately have the opposite problem, I don't get enough portal scrolls, or maybe I just use too many cause i'm homesick :) Last edited by dirge03#2067 on Sep 20, 2011, 10:12:40 PM
