League of Legends and Bloodline Champions
Anyone interested in starting League of Legends, here's my referral link:
http://signup.leagueoflegends.com/?ref=4f54b9fc024a0867007370 It's a moba game, and just like Path of Exile, is absolutely free - as in, it has no "pay-to-win" aspect to it. It has alot of skill-based gameplay. --- On a different note, has anyone else tried Bloodline Champions? It's like League of Legends, but focused solely on the "arena" aspect of it, as you have teams of 3v3 or 5v5 competing, without minions. Pay to win aspects?
Not sure what you're talking about. Perhaps you might be refering to how fast you can unlock things? It matters little. By the time you reach level 30, you will have earned a huge amount of IP, and with that IP you can get enough runes and champions to play perfectly fine. There's a "unlock" curve, but it matches the learning curve. There's nothing, besides skins, that you can obtain solely through money. So no, there's no pay-to-win in LoL. --- As for the skill-based gameplay, it has alot of it. You bringing up DotA just shows your LoL hate, nothing else. It seems to be the trend: hate LoL and say DotA is the "real" game, completely refusing to acknowledge the qualities of LoL. Less hate, more fun. " How did they go South? Riot is constantly updating models and even revamping champions, essentially trying to keep all champions up to current standards, both in gameplay and visuals. And to those claiming that there is power creep, it's not what it seems. In PBT, Riot gets a rough idea of how strong the new champion is, but only when the champion is live and reaches the hands of the best players in high competitive play, does Riot really have a true grasp on how powerful a champion is or can be, and then make adjustments to it. Any game out there should follow Riot and GGG's business model. They're quite similar. If in LoL you can acquire extra rune pages and champions, in PoE you can acquire stash tabs. Neither are required to play at your best, but helps by providing more options. Forum Warrior - Why are you creating a thread about this subject? Use Search! Also Forum Warrior - Nice necro. Played Bloodline champions, mostly during Season 1 to Season 4.
Back in the days, there was a decent 3v3 queue, so we weren't forced into 2v2 or SMM. I still come back to it every once in a while. And I still love the game. I wish modern ARPGs would offer the option to move with WASD and aim with the mouse, so you can move around AND use your skills simultaneously. |

" Don't forget that League of Legends "going south" is a subjective impression and while changes made by Riot may be good for the game and appreciated by the majority of players they can make it worse for others. This can range from small scale changes like nerfs to your favorite champion and visual upgrades or overhauls you don't appreciate (see for example the thematic overhaul of Trundle) to major shifts in gameplay like the jungle remake from season 2 to 3 and the rebalance, removal or introduction of items (like the Sightstone, Blade of the Ruined King, Runic Bulwark, Force Of Nature and so on). Not to forget that shifts in the meta can ruin the game for some people - for example passive and farm reliant junglers, strong but immobile fighters and mid-champions with a weak roaming were really popular in Season 1 and to a degree in Season 2 but are weak in Season 3 (for example Warwick, Mundo, Malzahar, Mordekaiser, Olaf) while others rose to fame. If you don't like the current meta you will not like the game. This being said I still prefer League of Legends over any other current MOBA, mostly because I don't like the art style and user interface of Dota2 and HoN (the playstyles of Dota2 and LoL are completely different and both have their pros and cons, I like either). I never digged Bloodline Champions (and Smite), I guess it just wasn't for me. Last edited by Victo#0265 on Oct 8, 2013, 6:32:04 AM

You can't buy runes for RP (money) and you can purchase every champion for IP (playtime).
It is as much pay to win as stash tabs are, which is: Not at all. |
