Good bye PVE for lots of us I'm Sure
Was there some kind of page limit you were trying to reach and you just had to double space your post to get there?
Anyway, it'll always b PVE for me. I just hate those AI monsters so much. "Danger is like jello, there's always room for more."

" Easier on the eyes and Easier to read. And yeah...like i said in a previous post to each their own. Thing is......PVE takes practice, PVP takes skill. A fact that anyone can TRY allllll day to argue with and will end up proving themselves wrong. Content can always be beaten with endless trial and error and then once the choreography of a fight is learned, it's just practice until you defeat it. This is N E V E R the case in Pvp which makes it more skill oriented and thus the competition goes exponential in difficulty and the randomization of play style scenarios. IGN_ Rightarm

I will definitely give PvP a try. I won't solely focus on PvP though, so I guess I will play both PvE and PvP. Probably more PvE though.

" kewl man, once you have an understanding of most mechanics you can start to implement them into pvp matches. Give it more than a try! Because lots will get burned out quick when they try to just run in without understanding the HUGE different between pve and pvp. gl! IGN_ Rightarm

PvP and PvE go hand in hand. ARPGs are about making the strongest possible character, and the best pvp characters will be the highest level + most ridiculously geared. anyone thinking otherwise is kidding themselves.
only when players are equal in these respects will the details matter, and 99% of the time they won't. with that being said, i will probably build my character around pvp, or maybe my second character i make. (rolling hc ofc) waiting on the details of 1.0 to theorycraft! ign = ultrahiangle Last edited by ultrahiangle#4938 on Oct 4, 2013, 4:42:12 PM

Yeah. The best players will have the best gear obviously. There will be plenty of people that know how to PvP AND have the best gear.
Anyway, I just read this thread.... Is there somewhere that has a detailed post about how pvp will work? Does it say PvP will be based off of standard characters, any charcters? League specific PvP? I absolutely love the idea of CTF. Noxx had a really fun CTF PvP system and I imagine this will be somewhat similar to that, just much more strategy and different builds, etc. On a side note, Noxx was an amazing game, and if anyone reading this hasn't played it I think they should. :D Edit: Bloodless almost seems like it would be mandatory for PvP. I suppose not if you can kill fast enough but I imagine really strong builds will be quite tanky. Same with Unwavering stance I suppose... who knows at this point. PvP is so difficult to theorycraft for without actually having experience with it. Last edited by PhreEkGarden#7624 on Oct 4, 2013, 5:02:21 PM

Got me thinking about PvP and I started thinking about how awesome a strong Puncture build could be.
Then I realized that you could just have a flask the instantly dispelled it. Lame. Then I started thinking about making characters just designed for flag capturing which could also be insanely powerful. Just stack all the run speed you possible can and go full duration Immortal call? lol. Suppose that just works against physical damage... but just throwin ideas around for the fun of it. :D I've only been thinking about this for like 10 minutes and the crazy builds you could make for different pvp roles is just awesome. i've personally never really been interested in pvp in basically any other mmo type of game i've played, but pvp for this game is really starting to peak my interest.
i like theorycrafting, and figuring stuff out. right now im waiting for the release to finalize my pve build. and now im thinking about the crazy builds and counter builds you can make for CTF just like phreek mentioned. yes a puncture build would be insane. sure theres pots that can dispell it but #1 they may not think of facing a puncture build, thus not having it (maybe they have dispel frozen/shocked instead, or more offensive pots) #2, pots run dry. im thinking up teams that you could set up, teams of 6, that would utilize all advantages to destroy another team. trappers, puncture, freeze builds, movement builds etc, team composed up of certain and specific builds that work together in order to gain every advantage over any other possible build to come out victorious. i literally don't want to get too specific, but the options are insane. again i normally don't get excited about pvp, but i am right now for this game. |

Color me interested.
My only worries is how the PvE elements will affect PvP, this being: 1) gear, as you mentioned in your post 2) LEVEL I currently have an 80 char as highest (since I get bored by this point normally) ... so I'll have to keep a close eye on how they manage this. |
