Okay, I'm getting really fucking tired of this shit.
You all know there is a forum policy against name and shame. You all know that Reddit exists, and anyone who really wants to be informed about what's going on here will be, so it's not like you are "serving the community" by spreading awareness here — the awareness is already spread. No, at this point you all are beating a dead horse, except it's not a horse, its the ruined reputation of a fellow user. Fellow users are human beings. Do I hope those who defraud others in this game receive some form of administrative punishment (probation or banning)? Absolutely. But that does not mean I believe they should receive cruel or unusual punishment at the hands of a sadistic mob. At this point, what's making the community look like a bunch of assholes isn't the person you all are beating up on, it is you, the people posting in this thread, continuously making new threads to repeat a cycle of cyber-bullying. I understand an initial reaction of shock, of anger. I truly do. I felt it myself. But part of being civilized, rational adults is not acting like fucking children, and learning to restrain that anger within the confines of civility. While GGG is deciding what to do about this, let's treat everyone with basic human dignity. Otherwise, we are sinking to the same level as those we accuse, and we lose the moral high ground. I sincerely hope this thread gets locked, and for fuck's sake, stop making new threads on this issue. If you want to get your hate on, go to Reddit with that shit, or better yet grow some maturity and shut the hell up about it; in any case, stop posting it here. Thank you. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. POE is the proof that developers can work with their community to create games where gameplay matters. There has been a steady increase of quality in gaming over the last few years, after it plummeted to a real low some time after the millennium change.
This game brings back the good feeling of old school gaming, but still keeping it new and fun. It has a very special place in my gaming collection, for that reason alone. "That's how you die properly, Sailor Boy.."
