Difficulty Level Naming

Is the new level more or less difficult than existing ones? The first words that came to my mind were "Desolate" and "Nightmare". The former may not really work with the existing naming scheme and the latter is a little overdone (from other games).

WaitingForAbetaKey, seems to be the toughest difficulty setting so far and I haven't even played the game.

Apart from that, Impossible, carnage, meatgrinder, suicide or doom could possibly be the next difficulty level.

No mercy or perhaps Merciless also sounds good to me.

Edit:

Inhuman, mental, Genocide, Execution.

Death row if you're into dark humor.

Edit 2:

There will be blood.

Hell is only a word, the reality is much much worse.

Or

Hell on earth.

I would go with something like Tyrannical. the names seem to get longer the harder it is
hard-4 letters, cruel-5, ruthless-8, so why not go for a 10.

Really, I think ness is on to something. Instead of naming the difficulties something generic you can use the opportunity to add a little more flavor to the game.

outcast -> forsaken -> banished -> exiled

you win I didn't see these, awesome. Especially Exile. I second it.

These are the best too, imo.

While I like thinking outside the box, the problem with outcast->forsaken, etc is that you dont get a sense that it is getting tougher. I wouldn't get that feeling I was in for some serious carnage if it was changed from outcast to forsaken and so on.

Hard> Cruel> Ruthless> insane.
Hard> Cruel> Ruthless> mersiless.
Hard> Cruel> Ruthless> unforgiven.
Hard> Cruel> Ruthless> Ragnarok.

Ragnarok means judgmentday, or end off world. Where the great worm eats the world and fenriz kills thor.
