What's a sporker?

I agree with the statements that spork isn't completely without gear requirements. I don't have one myself, but isn't the really "OP" combo with Shavronnes and low life (at least i got that impression by reading post about it on the forum)? (and a shavrones isn't really cheap)...

First if you dont get a Shavronne you are extremely squishy, I play self found and the best I could afford to do was a 5 Link Soul Mantle (made myself and I was extremly lucky on the linking), I also bought 2 OK Andvarius.

Nobody said you must play low-life.

And most of these people actually did try sporker, it's extremely easy and extremely boring but it enables you to stack MF.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Your DPS without low life (pain attunment) is very weak (still enough for dock I give you that but you can totally forget about doing anything higher lvl) unless you have very good damage multiplier on your wand, shield and amulet, to achieve an OK MF result you need at least a 5 Link Soul Mantle or a 6 Link ES chest as you need Spark + Chain + Faster casting + Lightning penetration + Spell Totem, that leaves a socket for either IIQ or IIR.

My groundslam mara is way more OP in my humble opinion even if he doesnt stack MF, way less skill is involved actually and he can do almost any map.

To finish, dont believe that because a sporker stacks MF he will get the best items in the game like magic, this is always about RNG, if an item has 0.01% chances to drop, even if you multiply that number by 2 it is still 0.02% which is quite low, same went for other ARPG, best items are dropping either after countless runs or because you are lucky but not because you stack MF, while MF helps I believe that a lot of players did drop very good items just out of luck witout any MF involved.

For me the most OP statistic is IIQ, 100% IIQ gives 1 more item drop by monster approx, almost any build can stack 100% IIQ without sacrifying too much gear while IIR gear is usually only about IIR.

You say you play self found, but you bought Andvarius, what`s self found abound that?

I play completely self found with all my Toons, never bought or sold a single item.

you could have reduced your entire post into one line, Kiffenn:

"I love my beautiful Sporker".

you sure have a right to, but personally I find it a boring "shortcut" to Path Of Exile.
almost a "win button" of sorts among character builds.
to each his own.

EDIT: @Evantis wasn't Quake full keyboard control? I remember shooting with Ctrl (or was it in Doom?).

Yes, yes I love my beatiful Sparker, that doesnt change what I typed in my first reply in the slightest. Spark builds are hardly a ''win button'', if you think that, you have never played a sparker. Some mob types are just retarded difficult to kill, totems get 1 shot by pretty much anything. I'd like to see you try to solo clear a map with a sparker that ''has no gear''. IE: Doesnt have amazing gear. Keyword ''try''.

The only reason people have an issue with this build is because of the MF stacking. Yet another reason to remove MF. :)

The HC thing is moot, with alt+f4 and all the ladder isn't anything of substance imo.

No, some people also have an issue with the way it completely fills the screen up and the resulting lag/performance issues.

Those people should try playing with someone who uses Arctic Breath or Ice Shot sometime.

There are a ton of builds that are easier than spork in ANY sort of high level content. Spork doesn't get godly until you have about 60-100 exalts worth of gear, and at that point yeah, it's damn godly. Before that it's just a good way to farm with MF. Seriously doubt anyone who has "tried one" has taken it to map level, and the entire game is easy through merciless with any build if you know what you are doing. It's far less "easy mode" than burning discharger or LA with Voltaxic.
