Think this is better than Diablo III?
If you do, my response is: LMAO!
First of all, Diablo III is a terrible game, mainly because of the cookie cutter builds and poor itemization. However, after playing Torchlight II for a while now, I've come to the conclusion that it is really the Diablo III killer we've been waiting for. The itemization is done fantastically and you really can make a whole variety of viable builds from each class. I haven't been this addicted to an ARPG in a while. The graphics are cartoony, but the art style is really great. Path of Exile, on the other hand, is complete and utter joke of a game. The dull world, stiff animations, slow and sluggish combat, dated graphics, embarrassing item design, and overly complicated skill system- all of these things contribute to the unplayability of this game for me. So, to anyone promoting this game over alternatives, I really can't help but laugh. In my opinion, PoE Beta is NOT worth $10. You couldn't pay me to play this game. I've been in the beta for months and I've had absolutely no inclination to re-install it. Why is Path of Exile so bad? Well, let's just say that the quality and polish of this game is equivalent to that of this website. I should have taken that as a hint. Last edited by Syndicat3#5994 on Sep 22, 2012, 6:14:10 AM

Nice to see that you have found an arpg that fits your needs, but your thread seems a bit pointless to me.

" I've been hearing everyone go on about how amazing this game is and it's come to the point where I can't stay quiet. This game is not playable in its current state and it must only appeal to a very small subset of neckbeards. I'll be a happy man if I discourage even one person from supporting this trash and maybe convince them to check out TL2 instead. |

Torchlight 2 can never kill diablo cause it is mainly a single player game unless you know someone and join co-op with them, i play it and its fun... but it has no chance of killing diablo.
PoE for other hand is more of a mmo with a global chat and party system + leagues. PoE just isn't put out there very well, it needs more advertisement and it can become very popular. And as u may know, blizzards games are unkillable. Games like gw2, tera, aion, rift or any other mmorpgs havent succeeded in killing wow and its still the most popular mmorpg out there. Same goes for d3, but it might be too early to say that cause it has only been out for 6 months. Next patch in d3 will bring more new players and old players back cause they are adding harder bosses mode and a mode where you can scale your solo game to 1-10 player difficulty and get boosted xp/item rates depending on ur difficulty. Also, if you think graphics matter, i suggest you go play bf3 for ur fps and tera for ur mmorpg and stick with d3. Last edited by Grizze#5573 on Sep 22, 2012, 6:30:03 AM

You think a single player game is the Diablo killer?
My response: LMAO Don't even try to say anything about how you can take your hacked single player character into some public online game. | |
" Torchlight II isn't a single player game................. In any event, TL2 is actually an incredibly satisfying game. Last edited by Syndicat3#5994 on Sep 22, 2012, 6:57:14 AM

" Torchlight II IS a single player game. When you go play the game, how many other people do you see there playing with you and can you chat with them while playing?... yeah thought so. Btw do you see how you said D3 only has cookie cutter builds and then you complain that PoE has too complicated skill system with unlimited possibilites fitting ur game style... yeahhhhhhhh... It's ok to like a game but if you go to other games forums and basically spam "my game is better than urs, u suck unless u play mine" ur retarded. |

" It's simply unfair to compare the polish of a closed-beta game by a small indie company with a team of 18(?) to that of an international, multibillion dollar company. It's like comparing a gourmet feast to an apple (the feast being made out of plastic, in this example). All of your complaints except the skill system are about polish, which isn't something to be expected in a closed beta. If you wanted to play a polished version of PoE then you should have waited until full release. At the moment, the GGG devs only need combat and graphical polish to be playable, not outstanding, while they work on making the larger gameplay and content additions. As for the skill system, I'd rather have overly complicated with much depth rather than incredibly dumbed down, shallow, and linear (p.s., PoE's skill system is quite easy to understand). As for the gritty graphics, it's not just poor quality, it's an attempt to actually give a realistic feeling. Theirs isn't a world full of bright colors, dancing faeries and super stylized but unrealistic armor. Despite the graphics needing polish, the overall graphic style of PoE gives a much more realistic feeling. There are no frilly armors on females that are little more than a souped-up bikini, offering no actual combat protection. Male armors aren't all big, flashy, and pointless, with unrealistically huge and unwieldy weapons. But hey, if you like that cartoony style, then go play some more whimsyshire/Torchlight, I'm staying here where my game actually feels realistic.
