PoE Vs Diablo 3 new expansion
There will come a new expansion with the following features:
-New character based on D2 Paladin -New act -Better loot to bring player back from the auction house to the game -New end game: Paragon points after reaching level cap that are beneficial for all you character's stats -New gameplay: Lootruns This will bring me straight back to Diablo 3 as PoE is not developing as I which is was. being melee is still painfully punishing and the build diverseness is simply untrue. All I see are the same builds and loot sucks big time. PoE aimed toward harcore players but PoE is a game for no lifers. I am a pretty hardcore player, I think. If I would be motivated a would play for several hours a day when possible (have to work, have to do sports, have a GF etc.). -Races? Forget it, not enough time to seriously compete with the no lifers -Wealth? Forget it, I only play melee and to progress I have to spend all the currency I find to buy new gear. And I do not find much currency. Also I cannot invest in magic find, melee is already weak and investing in IIR/IIQ would make me even more weak -Choice? Not really, as a melee you need all the life you can get and a lot more or you will be one shotted. All Marauders for example play the same way -Loot? A joke, way too random. Sell everything to buy stuff via trading. Only interesting if you can effort to invest A LOT in IIR/IIQ -Crafting? A joke, way too random. Spend orb buying stuff instead of crafting -Play2win? Not really, it is actually pay2win but without support for real money (see above) -Gameplay? Framedrops and desync destroy gameplay Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Aug 30, 2013, 6:35:48 AM

" I have to admit that never having played D3 I get a bit confused because the item you listed above is commonly mentioned as the downfall of D3 yet it is the core dynamic for POE. Someone else mentioned this "upcoming" patch of D3 a few weeks ago and I looked into it. At the time it sounded like half a year out. Has that changed? Because man, I would LOVE to play an ARPG where you found loot rather than bought it. I don't trade. I don't group. My comments reflect that.

I actually forgot the new gameplay that also will be introduced: Lootruns. Go check it out.
So yes if you want to find gear instead of buying it I would go and play the D3 expansion instead of PoE in it's current state if I were you. PoE is a random slot machine. |

Best of luck. For fun, I fired it up last night. Played for about 10 min. Boring as hell. Lack of character development isnt being patched. Your character is the exact same as everyones
Enjoy. |

Tis your experience I suppose. Cant call you wrong.
But not every marauder is the same. Yet every barbarian is. |

Who are you trying to fool, RT/Life/IR with Infernal Blow/Melee splash? YAWN
You think that possibilities make diversity, that is where you go wrong. Possibilities for tank builds are fake, the only possible way when playing a classic armour/life based tank is to get all the life nodes available and you will still not have anough because: 1) life is UP 2) Armour sucks 3) Granites are a must 4) Something life Enfeeble is a must 5) Instant flasks are a must 6) Life leech is a must You see? The classic tank in PoE is actually a false one... To work around this everybody who want to be a life/armour based tank is forced to play the same way (see list) So yes: Better go and play D3 indeed, character might be somewhat similar but at least they don't cover it up in unnecessary complex, overwhelming and irritating trees and micromanagement that is actually a bunch of crap as you will find out most of the possibilities are crap and there are only a couple viable routes Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Aug 27, 2013, 6:05:43 PM

" You don't need to be a no-lifer to compete. I consider myself a casual player and I can rank pretty well (#11-20 of my class) in a good race. " I play a melee and I don't go after every life node I can, I only have some, and yet I'm very tanky and survive just fine in merciless. Maybe you aren't playing well? " I, um, I don't think "pay2win" refers to ingame currency, it refers to real currency. It is a bit unfortunate how an unlucky streak can leave you broke in crafting, though. " I don't have framedrops, but yes, desync is pretty terrible and needs to be improved, GGG is working on it though. |

" Well good for you but: A) What do you mean with ranking? B) Do you play a life and armour based melee? C) Maybe I don't play well? What about maybe the game is not developed well? I have life and all my F***ING gear with all the life nodes I can get and almost 10K of armour etc etc. and still I do not have enough life? Maybe you should take some time looking around the forum! D) The point I make with Pay2Win is that the game is not about GRINDING ITEMS but about BUYING items E) You don't have frame drops? SO? Are you aware that GGG confirmed this and is working in more performance improvements? Do you realize that telling somebody who can run games like Mass Effect 3 smoothly but cannot play PoE in parties because of framedrops simply: "well I don't" is totally trolling? You know what is funny? Since I am playing PoE (started in CB) I spent more time complaining on the forum about the state of melee and staring in my stash and the trade channel trying to figure out how to progress then I have been spending time actually playing the game.
And I always play solo when I do play, is that fun? |
