Prisoner's Gate Waypoint location

Maybe this is intended, but I noticed after the last patch that put more randomization into the zones, the waypoint in Prisoner's Gate is not particularly near the entrance any more.

I believe it used to be just outside the entrance from killing the Warden.

Since it's a long slog from the previous waypoint, and the player has just beat a boss fight, I think it was kind of nice to have the waypoint right there.

As it is, you walk out and there are suddenly those leaping/charging mobs that could possibly kill some characters before they even get oriented, much less find the waypoint.

My question is just whether the change is intended, because it does definitely make the game (slightly) harder.

(No, I didn't die before I found the waypoint....)

I concur. That reliably-placed waypoint was almost as much a reward as anything Brutus dropped. Add to this the fact that, until you tag that WP, you are vulnerable to DCs and such forcing another slog from the start of the Prison, and it is almost nerve-wracking until you find it. ='[.]'=

Yeah I didn't like the moving of the waypoint. At least now I know to throw up a town portal the next time I got through but I almost died the first time I came out and the WP wasn't there. I would have not been happy if I had to drudge through the prison again.

I'm doing the stress test this weekend, and I'm seeing a waypoint, but it's not teleporting me anywhere....are they supposed to? AWESOME game by the way. Really would like to get a beta key to see my character through to the end. My characters name is Drident by the way.
I don't much like it either. That waypoint felt like part of the reward for killing the warden. You also typically have a full inventory you want to sell/stash after finishing prison.

I think placing the waypoint further down the road, which you must follow to get the quest event, might encourage people to...yknow, actually go down the road. That might be me reading too much into what could be just a random change, though.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
I was thinking it was an unintentional change that occured when they randomised the area layouts, as the Mud Flats' WP is still convenientily placed at the start of the area. Not a big deal really, I just have to remember to place a TP when I exit the Prison.

I would also like to see it back as it is a looong way before last waypoint, and random DC occur often still. Taking a TP back after prison to sell stuff without having a way point is nerve wrecking.

I believe GGG's modus operandi is to generate tension around every corner. This in many ways, has been a good thing when it's a good kind of tension. Wanting desperately to avoid dying is a good kind of tension, and this is a great place to kick it up a notch (imo) and really generate some good tension.

Unfortunately, there are unintended consequences when a player disconnects or dies due to lag / desync, and this is compounded by a lot of disconnections and desync deaths in the current game state!

And I am one of those players who suffers greatly at the hands of server lag. Both a friend and myself were disconnected no less than six times each while running maps yesterday! But that was an unusual occurrence, it's not usually that bad.. I'm just saying I empathize with those who get frustrated at having to repeat content; I've been there many times. But I like the change ( if it was intended) and don't think it should be changed back just because a few of us sometimes can't play the game as intended..

When you click a waypoint, it activates and opens up the map. You can then teleport to any other previously activated waypoint. The waypoint in Lioneye's Watch is activated upon entering the town; non-town waypoints (small blue dots on the map) need to be activated (whereupon they turn into big blue dots).
