+1 for trapper's suggestion of a on and off option then. Can't blame people who are unwilling to inspect because of a specific reason.

No need to show gear by default, we can already link items in chat easily enough.

Implementing the option to switch inspect on or off wouldn't harm the people wanting to hide it, and make it much easier for friends to show each other gear. Why say no to improving the interface possibilities. Shouldn't be too hard to implement either.

There's absolutely no need for inspect. A lot of people don't want others to know what they're using. If you want to know, ask someone its that simple.

The solution? As in other problems: options.
An option allowing other players to inspect your gear. Simple as that. Ignored players couldn't inspect you (so you can ignore annoying kids). I would enable it. |

I love how everyone's defense is "We want this, if people don't want it just toggle it." |

" Actually quite the opposite. Who want it, enabled it. Who don't, just don't touch the option panel. |

Some "smart" Dev. added that to SWTOR (Star Wars the Old Republic)... Nothing good come of it. People do not want to group with each other, group content above normal mode is impossible to do, since everyone is looking for top gear, and link the achievement for Hard and Nightmare Mode in a group content, Star Parse... etc... There is no more, MMO's like LOTRO (Lord of the Rings online). No matter what gear you have, let's try the instance, Operation... In this game, that doesn't have so much importance. But as much as it is good, to see how someone set his toon up or skill tree, it is also bad, since a lot of people do not want to play with new ones, thinking it is a waste of time and energy. That way the MMO is completely losing it's sense.

This isn't a bad idea as long as you can only view the gear if you choose to do so and the person is willing.
For example, 1 checkbox could be used for "make gear displayable to others". Then, make it an option to have people right click the character to view gear if the person has provided permission. This way almost everyone's happy. The only people who display gear are those who choose to. People who want to view gear of other people can choose to do. People who don't want to view gear don't have to. Often times, I have linked my gear piece by piece and this would simplify the process. This wasn't to show off but to establish what should be improved first. Last edited by Slicer9875#6180 on Jul 15, 2017, 2:55:39 PM
