Eldritch battery mechanics with Ghost Reaver?
With the upcoming patch I was wondering how Eldritch battery mechanics will work with Ghost Reaver? will it permanently add mana to your total (which would be ridiculously powerful) or temporally add mana (still kinda too powerful) or would it act like mana leech instead (which could be useful for builds)?
If there is a section for this I'd love to read it if someone can link it. Thanks! So many build ideas... no time....

Ghost Reaver leeches energy shield instead of life.
Eldritch Battery converts all energy shield to mana. ...I can't see these two playing nicely. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" Oh my...........what a contradicting build that will be. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Leeching energy shield when you have 0 maximum energy shield because of Eldritch Battery works exactly the same as leeching mana when you have 0 maximum mana from Blood Magic - you can't gain more than the maximum, and if that's 0, you gain nothing.

When are you at leeching topic... is it possible to leech ES with spells? All items I have ever seen had only "leech x from physical damage dealt". So I won't be ever to leech anything with my caster witch? :(

Unavailable Look at that closely: that does not say "Physical" anywhere. ;) The Mana Leech Gem is the same way, but atm I don't have a Mana Leech that isn't being used... for good reason. Alteration Orb Union Local #7

" ok that kinda makes sense but doesn't eldritch "convert" ES to mana where blood magic just takes away the resource? So many build ideas... no time....

It isn't converting the value of current ES you have - if it did, then your mana would recover quickly after a few seconds of not being hit. It's converting the property of having an energy shield at all - meaning you have no maximum energy shield, not having the same maximum and just not having any in it.
When gear says it grants 100 Energy Shield, or someone tells you their character has over 300 energy shield, they're referring to the size of their total energy shield - maximum value their shield can be, not the current value of it. Eldritch battery is referring to the same thing which is says it converts "energy shield" When you leech energy shield (or life, or mana) you're not gaining more energy shield, you're recovering energy shield you already had, but which was depleted by taking damage. If you have no energy shield because it's all been converted away, there's nothing to recover, so the leech can't do anything. Last edited by Mark_GGG#0000 on Sep 6, 2012, 8:30:19 PM

" Well noted. So Ghost Reaver+that gem+CI should result in some very decent ES maintenance with a caster...? Because they totally didn't have that already. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
