Why don't spells work with the life on hit spell gem?

Poison Arrow is an attack and therefor no. Spell damage support isn't increasing the Added Chaos Damage directly, the Added Chaos Damage is being applied to the spell, and then the Spell Damage nodes are making all of those numbers on the spell XX% bigger. The reason why Elemental damage doesn't affect chaos damage is because it's not considered an Element.

The base bonus from auras are applied to each target individually, and each target's personal buffs that affect that aura are applied to them. Although I don't think Wrath would be double-dipping the bonus (because it's based off the minion's base damage, any increased minion damage already increases it from the base damage, so Wrath shouldn't be getting increased again when it's applied.)

Is poison arrow a spell? No (and this will indeed be easier to see). The damage is being dealt by something which is not a spell. Therefore spell damage is not applied. Is that satisfactory?
The longer-term plans I alluded to would make that even more explicit, but I should not go into details at this early stage.

And would be correct. Notice how the wordings used led you to the correct assumption? That's exactly what we're aiming for. "increased minion damage" increases damage dealt by your minions. Did your minions deal that damage? Yes, so it's increased.
