Making Movement Speed an Implicit Property on Boots

Every single pair of boots becomes worthless unless you have movement speed on them regardless of how great the properties are on the boots. People won't even want to waste an exalted on them for that "chance" to get movement speed and no sucker will buy them. I really hate use to diablo 3 as an example, but necessitating "+all resists" on every single gear slot is very similar to the problem that we see in PoE and % movement speed boots right now.

Please consider making movement speed an implicit property on boots. % Movement speed is the one property that HAS to be on boots ALL the time.

Yes yes yes yes yes.

People who don't need movespeed can use base boots with higher defense at the cost of implicit movespeed. For most everyone, if boots don't have decent movespeed, they're worthless regardless of the other stats on them.

EDIT: And magical movespeed can still exist with this. Make implicit only go up to 20 and magical mods can push it up +10.

This would be an amazing change.

Umm...no

who cares about movement speed?
f*** these kids that go all dmg, no survivability in their builds.
already ruined d3 because they just wouldnt get the concept of sacrificing some dps for defensive stats.. NOOOO MY MEGADEEEPS CANT BE LOWERED!!!

fix your build, get some hp/armor/evasion/whatever so youre able to take some hits and
WHOOPS movement speed is all of a sudden nothing more than a "nice to have stat"
No please.

You are just begging for free buff. It's easy to get boots with speed and some cheap crappy uniques with speed if you like it so much. You have to sacrifice stats for it but for a good reason. Speed allows to dodge projectiles (including arrows in next patch) and kite enemies. It is a huge boost. It will also be important stat in PvP and makes lightning warp faster.

Boots do not need to have speed on them. I play my ranged chars completely fine without much movement speed.

That is a terrible example. A lot of people rushed for all resists in D3 like sheep without thinking. It's good to have but I have seen barbs finish D3 HC with barely any resists but good stats and regen. I've seen monks doing same with barely any resist all on gear and only single resist stacking. My brother pretty much stopped playing after 1.0.3. since it destroyed CC build but he had tanky WD with about 500 all resists and doing fine in any act in inferno HC (and this was when everyone was complaining about how WD was too weak). I've also seen a lot of glass canon builds going for max dps and I sold some belts for many millions just because they had high dex and no other stats. In addition 10 armor is worth more than 1 all resists for most chars and surprisingly on HC, where not much good gear exist, you can often cheaply get gear with small resists but huge armor.

The fact that you were among stupid crowd following some guides and not thinking for yourself doesn't mean that stacking all resists was necessary.

The problem isn't that you sacrifice stats for movement speed. It's that a boot without movement speed is worthless.

worthless to the crowd, gold to me

i may be playing the game different than you, but im not like OP running around asking for HP as an implicit stat on each item, because otherwise its worthless to me

get the point?
Hmm, the person who doesn't want movement speed as an implicit mod has the one class (OK, Duelist might be best at MS, but ranger is a close 2nd) where movement speed isn't a problem as an avatar... Coincidence?

For the other 4 classes, movement speed is basically mandatory, and when it comes to selling, it is. Either massively buff the chance of rolling MS on boots or make it implicit. Both can exist as well. A super solid pair of boots without an MS mod but with 10% implicit MS would still hold value, whereas now, it wouldn't.

nope.jpg

my main is a witch, never cared about movement speed
GGG have spoken about giving each item slot more personality, and I think this would be a good change. So far the 'arguments' against this proposed change don't seem to be very convincing.
