GGG sets the standard for customer service. Blizzard Entertainment takes notice.

Of the 10 years I have read Blizzard forums they have never engaged directly to players as GGG has done. Neither has any of the other popular online games I recently encountered. If you take a sneak peek at Blizzard forums today you will notice a difference in their behavior and seem to engage players more often. While Blizzard may have a(n) 1-800 to speak to a live representative GGG has something better. GGG developers directly reach out to players and don't hold back. Their genuine approach and passion for games puts them in my opinion as the current role models in keeping a thriving, sustainable and happy community buzzing with gratitude. Other developers can certainly learn from GGG and should pay close attention.

" In GGG's defense, Blizz has a MUCH bigger support department. I understand what your saying but you cant deny GGG support is better than Blizzard...AH! NO! dont! I said you cant! SOTWGUILD.COM

Blizzard has over 10,000,000 people who play their games, GGG probably has about 5,000 people who play their game.
If GGG were to become as successful as Blizzard, I guarantee their customer service will end up taking a nosedive and it will be just as shitty as Blizzard's customer service. " There is no such thing as American customer service. It is all outsourced to locations outside of our own country to cut costs. Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I agree that GGG has excellent support but if they turn into a billion dollar company, they will follow they same path ever other billion dollar company does.

GGG took care to expand the customer service department first when the player base took off very, very fast. It took them a few months to get it up and running for Open Beta but I have very little doubt if and when GGG gets more popular and the player base expands more, they will try to keep the customer service up to standards and never fall as far into the abyss that Blizzard did.
GGG cares about the customers, Blizzard hasn't given a fuck for anything more than the dollars rolling in for a very, very long time. “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

Blizz has plenty of community managers that are constantly posting and communicating on the forums. There have been many devs that have posted on the Blizz forums, and Greg Street answers players on his twitter account. Blizz communicates so often that websites have dedicated trackers just to follow it all:
http://blue.mmo-champion.com/ http://www.diablofans.com/blizz-tracker/ Don't know where you get this idea Blizz devs never dicrectly communicates with their players. I enjoy it when devs and even community managers post on the forums, whether GGG or Blizz. It's one way game devs are different from many other business, they're not just working, they're gamers, too. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give moar Power Creep Pls |

on a player vs suport staff ratio Blizzard probley has much more Customer service reps than GGG.
But i will say for smaller companys it is a bit easyer to handel tings on a "per person basis" whare a large company just has standard and set policeys. This i think makes it alot eayser to deal with stuff as it pops up. However also with small companys with only a handfull of suport people if they happen to wake up on the wrong side of the bed that day u are basicaly fucked. I remember with CCP once i had a pretty massive problem and my ticket was responed to in about 45 secounds and the response was " whats your phone number we need to talk to yha " i spent the next 6 houres on the phone with them from iceland on thare dime. I was preety impresed with not only the response time but alot what ended up happening. However another time i made a ticket , and days went by. Then i kept on them to no response, eventualy they "reimbursed " me however they did not tell me or the other players in the same situation as me that they did so. So we found our "rimbursed ships" floting in sapce just sitting thare for any 1 to steal. Our complaints after went with what was preety much " fuck u deal with it " So it's tit and tat . So far GGG has been great to me with the very few problems i have had Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time
