Play2dead or pay2win before I win Free2play? I have family, work and few hours on weekend, can I play this game?
I saw some good comments on independent rating pages, so I want to try... |

Sure, just don't expect to make the same progress as someone playing 20 hours a day.

Game is not pay2win unless you count real money trading from sites on the web. Playing for only a few hours during the weekend though make your chances of getting a regular farming party going pretty slim. If you want to compete you'll have to look for the hr or so races.
Losing is Learning.

your first character will most likely fail, but you should get enough orbs and knowledge to have easier time on your second character... who will also most likely fail, though not so hard.
After that initial hurdle here's how it usually goes: lucky: You get lucky with drops and you won't have any problems. Regular: You'll do just fine, but mostly you'll just farm for alts and chaos and such to get your hands onto decent gear. Shavronne's and similar are just a distant dream for you, unless you plan on grinding for hours every day. unlucky: You'll quit because you didn't start this game just to grind all day never getting anything good. " The forums are not bad.. just might need to ignore some people whining about bad luck sometimes. It is understandable though when you can use loads of currency to get nothing. This game is fun.
But, and this is what drives me the most nuts. All the really fun and strong builds require certain gear. I honestly believe this is the way arpgs should be. But, in this game, the drop rate is so low people like me and you will never acquire this gear because it is expensive as hell and impossible to find. So, two things will happen. You will get a great idea for a build and then realize you will never be able to try it because you can't get the gear to run it. You will then run a cookie cutter build because they work and are cheap. |
