This systhem is not realy unique since city of heroes has done it and GW 2 will do it etc. etc. This however doesn't change the fact that it could be handy. And where is the fun if a highlvl player just blasts through the content for you?

If you were able to get scaled down in such a way that you are still more powerfull then normal but not a 1 hit god that destroys groupes like its nothing it could really help the gameplay expiriance for the players who want to play together.

I tend to agree but in the end , the only way to stop high level players to run low levels through content is to make so they cant group at all. They could also make so none get exp or loot if the level difference is to great. Either one of those two i personally think will hurt the game more then it helps.

That doesn't nessesarely have to happen, think of it this way: The low lvl player will still gain normal XP or if you rlly want to would have a penalty. The highlvl player would be less powerfull and earn less XP. High lvl players won't be interested in low lvl loot so if you change drop frequencie this could solve the loot problem. The only benefit you would have is that you can play together without the highlvl player demolishing everything thus ruining the gameplayexperience
I dunno... seems risky...

I read you wrong or something and answared you even worse , cause i think we mean same thing (Was to tired after looking at beta timer ;) ) Yes its better if they can scale down to the low level player they want to group with if the level difference is to great, lets say greater then 10 levels. Aka a "mentor system" :)
^^^^^^^^ This is actually called the sidekick systhem in City of Heroes :)
And yes looking at the beta timer is killing me too ....

YES! Thank you for clearing that up; I was trying so hard to remember what game had this system.

NP I think city of heroes has set a fine example for mentoring systhems, therefor it should be nice if it were to be implemented in this game aswell.
Yeah, it would be reall great to Scaledown the higher Charakter. Maybe there is a way, thas not too EXP-less for an Highcharakter to with a "littleone"

This would be a way, to get evrytime a good Party for Levelling, Finding gems etc.

I would play with my Gf too, same Problem. Im always Higher then her =/ i also have friends they would play with me, but i think some get higher then me, some lower.

I think this game gains a many profit from this feature.

We do need some sort of Scale down system at least.

Both for mentoring, and for other stuff. Like trying to get Cards and other special loot.

"There is a penalty to the chance of currency items and Divination cards dropping in areas with a monster level more than two levels lower than your character level. For each additional level that you have compared to the area's monster level+2, the chance of a currency and Divination card item drop is reduced by 2.5%."

dropPenalty = 2.5% * (lvl_{char} - (lvl_{monster} + 2))

Mentor/Scale Down would counter ... Most of said penalty allowing acquisition of said items.
(unique gear from bosses, Cards,etc)

as for XP...

if in party and scaled down to match party leader/members all other members receive xp as normal, mentored player takes a penalty based on lvl difference and questline/map status.

if alone ... possibly higher penalty.

I don't understand why you want a scale-down system so bad. Just create another character and problem is solved.

that only works for maybe the first few zones, but you need something from a higher lvl area.. or one that requires doing a bunch of other quests to even reach... or both.
