Pets that fight

Please have pets that fight with you, other then only follow you. I see the cash shop items the only thing, that interest me are the item effects. When you do get pets that fight with you, you will have to change everything, because it will be to easy to have a pet that fights with you.

Just got back from holiday and what do I see the black cat for sale. Awesome I thought when I saw it in relam it must've been some custom pet. Well I own one now

I don't see why we can't have a generic pet that does stuff for us, and if we want it to look like anything interesting, we would change its appearance with the shop pets.

Well you could introduce some pets that can only be found (as an item drop) in game and give all pets the same fighting ability. No p2w then, but as mentioned here TL2 already does this and Diablo 3 will likely follow with something similiar in the addon sooo... no real need to introduce this in PoE too.

Mercenaries would be great only if they are implemented in a way that is actually interesting. In Diablo 2, there was a ton of different mercenaries for hire, but in the end you ended up with an act 2 mercenary with Insight/Infinity, Andariel's Visage and a Fortitude armour.
If GGG could come up with mercs that manage to compliment builds in ways never seen before then I'm all for mercenaries, but I'm not interested in average run of the mill mercs. This game doesn't have room for the mundane. sry ive seen godly and godlys dont lose hp wich wuold pretty much be a smiter with life tap

Someone mentioned just having a microtransaction or something that lets you replace the skins of summons (skeletons, etc.) with pet skins. I think it's a pretty awesome idea.
