How to prevent party from entering map?
Hi all,
I remember that when I joined a public party who were playing a map I could not join map area untill someone created a TP in map area. This is what just happened to me; 1. I created a new laboratory instance with control+click 2. I created a public party (no one joined) 3. I opened a map and starting playing it 4. Someone joined party and then joined my map 5. I couldn't do anything to get this person out, kicking from party didn't matter. He/she died and rejoined area untill all portals were taken. (all done in a few minutes) How can I prevent this from happenening? I want to be able to create a public party for trade and meeting people, but I don't want that just anyone can join my map without my explicit permission or paying an admittance fee for example. Cheers for the help! IGN: SugoiNL Last edited by SugoiNL#4588 on Jul 21, 2013, 1:50:36 PM

open a new lab instance with ctrl click

That's the risk you take when doing trade parties.
I've been opening 100+ trade parties by now while soloing maps and noone has ever abused my map that way xD. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" I did open a new map instance, sorry for not explicitly saying that. Will add it to my post. IGN: SugoiNL

" Then how is it possible that earlier (weeks ago) I could not join other people's map area untill they created a portal in the laboratory? IGN: SugoiNL

" When a map is activated at laboratory, 6 portals open, each having a one-time use. If anyone joins the party after you've activated the map, they are able to use any of those portals given that they haven't been used. So my guess is that either you went to the wrong laboratory instance or all six portals had already been used when you joined. This message was delivered by GGG defence force. " I am absolutely sure that portals were available and that I couldn't join the area until my friend made a tp in the laboratory. I double checked by control+clicking laboratory and no instances came up at all. My friend told me via skype that it works this way because he had experienced the same thing earlier as well. After he created the tp in laboratory, i could take his tp and then take an open portal to the map. IGN: SugoiNL Last edited by SugoiNL#4588 on Jul 21, 2013, 1:57:16 PM

" Odd, I would have to test it later (Tomorrow, cant today XD). Maybe every group I joined always had a tp open? What I am sure of at this point is that given that a portal from lab to sarn was created, I can simply enter the lab directly using the usual waypoint->ctrl+click laboratary. Question would be: what if no portal from lab to sarn is created? This message was delivered by GGG defence force. Last edited by mazul#2568 on Jul 21, 2013, 2:05:41 PM

You made a party anyone can join. By doing so, you allow them entry to any areas you're in. Don't do Public Maps if you're not ok with this.

you prevent that happening by not creating a public party and doing a map?
once someone else joins your party and gets into your instance, you can kick them from the group but they can still join your instance. "We believe - so we're misled, we assume - so we're played, we confide - so we're deceived, we trust - so we're betrayed"
