I just don't know how this company survives, will POE make it to release?

Buy more stash tabs, and fill them with shinies. Problem solved!
I find it amusing that this thread is currently sitting right next to a thread in which people are discussing not just their diamond support but *how many times* they've bought it.

Charan,

BTW I did not mean to make this thread for flames, it's actually genuine concern. I absolutely love it, I'm going to donate more money this week.
My guess is that GGG will get a Huge Flow of Money if they finally hit the Open Beta and add more Ways of Payment and theri Cosmetics

Oh no, I didn't see this as a flame thread. I tend to react a little more...suppressively towards those. It's a very legitimate concern, and surely one that occupies the good folk at GGG far more than it does any of us.

Also, don't think of it as 'donation'. That's definitely not the word to use here. You're purchasing virtual currency to use in their microtransaction store to the exact value of your purchase. All the perks are precisely that: perks.

This will become a lot more apparent once they start adding more things to the cash store.

A donation is typically a gesture of goodwill with no expectation of immediate kickback or acquisition of goods. That is not the case here, even if that which is being purchased hasn't revealed its full value yet.

When people ask how much I've 'donated' to GGG, I say 'not a cent.'

You are far too suppressed. Allow me to pick up the slack.
We are doomed! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!

If you check out the GGG site (not POE) it gives some good backstory on the company and its founding. I belive it states that Chris made a small fortune in IT security before starting GGG and alot of the $$ was used to start/sustain the company early on.

See Chris' backstory.
Took a 2 year break, but I'm back.

I was going to link to that (yes, I've casually cyberstalked GGG) but figured someone else might. :)

Cost cutters.

There is no rent, they sleep under their desks.

If they do have families, put those family members to work; whats the legal age in NZ you can send children into the workforce?

Ramen is dirt cheap, even imported i'd warrant.

Dunno how NZ health care system works but its so nice there how can anyone get sick?

Contract work on the side?

I'm pretty sure the age for work is 14+ though employers are not required to pay minimum wage to under 16's.

Got some cheaper than dirt cheap noodles in the form of Budget branded noodles. They are sweet.

And healthcare is subsidised and/or free depending on how you do it.

I reckon they'll be all good. The games too good for them not to do well. It would be genuinely strange if they somehow couldn't go to full release. I'm just stoked that we got Kiwi's putting out a game this good!
I just hope they can last atleast 6 years, and if they ever do start losing money and they dont sell the company, they release the game as a free download for offline, with private server support. Theres no reason why this game should ever go away.

I think ggg should known what they are doing, I dont think expectations would be higher then getting over 1 million in a year while they were making this.
