Offensive Character Names...

I really love that there is no filter, its almost amazing that I can type cunt fuck on a forum and its not censored. I can understand why they would want to filter racist names, but at the same time I'd love if they didnt. It's all just words and to me no word has any more impact than any other,they are just symbols we designate for communication.
Maybe someday people will learn to rise above words offending them, but now is not that time. |

Although I am sure someone will take it for themselves before I get the chance to make that character now. In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.

Yeah, as i totally agree that there should never be any kind of filtering involved here, my point was that names like the ones i mentioned in my first post here take part of the atmosphere away from the game imo. I didn't see any of this crap in closed or at least, the odd one every now and then. It really isn't anything major but i see it more and more and i don't often show much respect for those that create the names. This is definitely a mature game, so i just expect people to be more mature in that sense too, but thats too much to ask.

The word "offensive" is far too vague and subjective to have any use. Can I report the name "Dave" if I'm offended by it?
Perhaps instead of worrying about what individuals find "offensive", the focus should be on adjectives like "threatening" and "abusive". One person's "offensive" is another person's "hilarious", but "threatening" is more clearly defined as promoting violence towards an individual or group. |

I couldn't care less what others say or call themselves. I honestly don't care if its racist, sexist, rude or directly targets me... I think its fickle to care what others say and call their chars. |

Also, the simple solution to being offended by some else's guarantee name: leave the party, unfriend them, ?, profit.
