Cruel Merveil Unique Farming Log

10 runs with a 90% IIQ / 249% IIR sporker, I just ran past everything and killed merveil:

Spoiler

Seems like there is a ton of uniques yet nothing really worthwhile. I will try a bit more and post if I find anything of value. Love the idea of this thread.

Seems like IIQ makes quite the difference, I shall have to get Goldwyrm to see how much it changes things.

Tried your method, its pretty effective. Ive got 113% IIR and 26% IIQ gem attached to cleave. In about 15 runs I got 5 uniques. Ungils Gauche, Chobber Chaber, Ignomon, Karui ward and a shiversting. Trying to get better mf gear, still quite pleased cos on a good day I would at best find 2 uniques. As u wer saying, Merveil merciless will hav an even better pool. Thx for thread and good luck findin those uniques. 15 runs took me around an hour or a bit more. jealous of monsaroh, hes got dam good gear

several weeks ago a friend and me were doing merveil merciless runs in 6 player instances.

he made a run char (high speed, high attack speed, dual weald, whirling blades & leap slam / lightning warp) and is able to get to merveil within 20-30 seconds from the entrance, since he did so many runs by now that he completly memorized every single layout of the zone.

I was using about 110 quantity, 300 rarity (no low life) and doing the killing.

here are some resulsts from what I can remember:

within 1 hour of playtime, we managed to pull out 100 alterations each (so a total of like 200 alterations), aswell as a total of 15 uniques. we did about 30 runs during that time.

on top of that we both had like 4-5 alchs each just from selling rares for alch shards, and a few useable rares aswell.

While this does seem like its super profit in short time, I can honestly tell you that this method is getting extremely boring. Therefore we are now working on doing similar stuff on merciless piety. There is still quite a long way before we can do that, simply because we currently lack specific items to do so.

Oh, and this is onslought, in case anyone wonders.
Small hiatus bump, I got Wondertraps, so I ran Normal Merveil for about 2 hours with about 335/40 IIR/IIQ, this is the result:

Edit: this run wrecked my wisdom scroll reserves, I used over 400 of them.

I did 3 cruel Merveil runs with only 66 IIR, trying to get more IIR/IIQ. No unique yet but got some ok drops.

Spoiler
I ran cruel Merveil 15 times with 210 IIR and 50 IIQ. I had lots or rare items but only one unique:

I know this isn't really relevant (as this is more solo runs), but I would like to point out that when you have IIQ/IIR with groups, it's multiplicative with the group's IIQ.

Example: You have a group of 6 characters. This means the total group IIQ is 250% (50% per person) for a total Item Quantity (IQ) of 350%.

Well, if you yourself have 350% IIQ (for a total of 450% IQ) and you get the killing blow, it's multiplicative with the other 350% IQ.

That means the total IQ for a kill by you in a group of 6 is 15.75 or 1575% more quantity or loot.

Then, because of how Item Rarity (IR) works, as it, in all intents and purposes, is multiplicative with IQ, your total IR will essentially be 1575% if your personal IR is 100%.

If you have 200% IR (because you have 100% IIR), then your effective IR is actually 3150% or 31.5 times as many rares will drop.

Groups make a huge difference because of this. Even a single extra person can add quite a bit to your hall.

For the math for that:

Group of 2 is 150% total IQ. Your IQ is 450% like before. You would get 675% effective IQ as compared to 450%.

Your IR going up the same way as well. From 900% effective IR to 1350% effective IR.

Just thought I'd mention that. It is interesting info imo.

If you don't believe me, go read the Mechanics Thread. Under Drop Rates, it says "player bonuses are multiplicative with group bonuses".

This is from one of Mark's posts on the subject, I'm sure.
Normal Merveil, level 30 character, 15 runs, IIQ 10%, IIR 47%

Also got so many rares that I ran out of wisdom scrolls, and now have 3 tabs waiting to be identified
its seems like they are dropping a lot less, probably just a lot of people have read this and are jus farming the shit out of merveil or her drop rates been nerfed , I don't know but ive seen a drop in the drop rate or mayb its jus rng
