Flicker Strike and Unarmed

I think Flicker Strike should operate with the same 'restrictions' as Elemental Hit.

Indeed, I feel this way about any attack that doesn't specify allowable weapon types.
Flicker Strike does specify allowable types. It states in the skill description it uses a melee weapon.

And that's why it has the restriction - flicker strike is inherently a melee skill, which doesn't make nearly as much sense to do from range, and using it with ranged weapons doesn't really fit the concept of the skill.

Unfortunately there's a limitation in how skills specify weapon restrictions meaning that if a skill has any restrictions at all, it can't work with unarmed. That's because restrictions are specified by listing the item types it's usable with, and unarmed isn't (and can't easily be made) a type of item.

I do hope to change this in future, and allow more skills to be used unarmed.

Hate to bring this from the dead, but Infernal Blow now says: "Requires a Sword, Axe, Mace, Staff or Unarmed."

So obviously you patched some things up to make Unarmed work as a limitation, but decided to not allow flicker strike with unarmed? May I ask why? I personally think FLicker Strike would be very, very fun with unarmed and would be on the same level as Frenzy in regards to damage output.
Flicker Strike is considered specifically a weapon attack, and not something that can be done unarmed. Some other attacks can be done unarmed.

I said we wanted more skills to be usable unarmed (and we've achieved that), not flicker-strike specifically.

I added Flicker Strike to my unarmed-attacks suggestion list a while back (along with infernal blow), but since that change has happened and FS wasn't included in the punchy-fun, I accept that this is not GGG's will.

Still, it would have been fun to make a teleporting unarmed character. I hear D3 had a skill not unlike this, aesthetically if not effectively.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
I don't see why not? Since technical restrictions aren't an issue anymore, I don't see a reason. The skill fits perfectly with unarmed play style, where it's more speed than damage. In fact, more so than clunky 2h weapons which it can be used with, which to me makes no sense. Having flicker strike will make unarmed combat much more interesting and fun.
I have to bump this.

Using flicker strike unarmed does make sense and should be added whenever possible to do so.

Pretty please with a cherry ontop.
Can we please get an update on this.
Bump again.

There is still no movement skill avaliable for people playing unarmed, right?
We only have dominating blow and infernal blow as skill options for unarmed right?

wrong - frenzy, elemental hit and cyclone are also available.

Flicker would be nice addition though :)

Lightning Warp as movement skill.

Cyclone as hybrid move/attack skill. maybe Shield Charge too, but need to check that.

Dominating Blow, Infernal Blow, Frenzy and perhaps Double Strike and Elemental Hit (not sure).
Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
Shadow: That was fun

2 year anniversary of the post (sorry to bring it back from the dead)! Anyway, any progress on this? I know it's not really priority #1, but just wondering if we should expect to see more unarmed skills in the near future.
