Summon Elemental Spirits/Ghosts or whatever

Hi,

Just give us another Summon Skill Gems, because just "Necromancer" is boring. I would really like to see some Elemental Spirits/Ghost we can summon, of course instead of the Zombies/Specter/Skeletons.

Add somthing that just allow each player to summon Elementals or Undeads.

And i think for the number and health of Elementals are no new passive nodes needed, just add new lines to the existing ones.


What do other people think ?

I've been wanting this for a long time now. D2 had both ranged, melee, and elemental skeletons right out of the bag iirc. Would like to see at least one more type of skeleton available for summoners and possibly other non-undead summons as well.

Just not monkeys, for the love of **** I hate those things.

you can already summon every monster in the game w/ summon spectre ;)

i would expect to see such a major change (if it comes) to be implemented together w/ a content update because its a comfortable way of buffing summoners for the stronger content w/o rebalancing all of the summoning skills (hope im wrong ofc, gl).

Yeah but 1. They are undead.. so its Necromant.. i meant more something like an Elementalist. And 2. first there are just some monster that are valuable to "specter" them and everytime you log in or they die you need to run to them and "specter" them again.


I would be nice to get some Fire, Ice/Water, Air/Lighting and maybe the fourth element Earth elemental-spirits/ghost that we can summon instead of the undeads.

Yeah that would be nice too, or even if you can collect their souls or something like that and then bind to a raise specter gem and summon them this way.

You seem to want to recreate the spirit summoner in Guild Wars 1 :) I like the idea of ghosts like in that game:

- Stationary ghosts, that provide something (damage, buffs, heals, stuns, slows ... whatever)
- Moving ghosts, that attack ... fire, ice, chaos, melee .. whatever

This already in in a way with the summons and the totems. But this spirit summoner would be able to summon many more ghosts than just two totems. Obviously, they must be weaker then, since two totmes alone can already be extremely powerful. There would also need to be a whole set of passives related to finetuning minions etc, so you have to invest to get many, and also powerful minions and have to give up on something else. It wouldn't work with the current system of passives. But I really like the idea of a way to specialize your basic minions. Spectres are cool, so are the skeletons. but it'd be nice if you could somehow alter your zombies or have a fourth set of summons, that are specialized things.

But we're asking a complex thing here ... having summons of all kinds can turn into a balancing complexity nightmare. And: All would have to be interesting. It would be useless to have 20 specialized types, and everybody only uses the two, that are msot powerful.

This ends up being a passive tree inside the passive tree :)

Maybe those ghosts doesn't need any corpse to spawn, like skeletons. But they also get limited time, like skeletons. They're spawn one ghost by one instead of two skeletons per cast, but at same time they've got extra random elemental damage on their ranged attacks and also extra chaos resistance for defense. And they could be a summon used by some mobs and bosses.

That sounds me good.

Yeah Spirit Summoner in GW1 :D i loved it, but it was more because i just started playing Aion again and there you got too some Elemental Spirits that you can control. Of Course i dont want to compare Aion with PoE but for people like me who love to play as summoners it would be nice to have some more than just undeads.

Your idea with those ghosts is nice, because i think they could just add some new lines to the existing summoner nodes and add 1-5 new nodes for ghosts. Support ghosts would be awesome i really miss that part of supporting :)

Haha yeah just spec into a portal-node to get to another passive tree specially for summoners :D
