Summoner/totem build viable?
" Disagree, maps provide better exp and can be steamrolled at high pace - especially outdoor once. Also alchemied maps easilly get 50-100 IIQ mod on top of your gear, more rare/magic monsters etc. all greatly benefiting drop. That being said i dumped few ex into trying summoner dual spark build and it was not worth it at all, much lower impact on clearing indoor maps then i thought. Also boosting spark dps to reasonable lvls with minion based passive setup is impossible. So then i went back to spectre/zombie/skelleton totem build with a bit of tweaking: picked burn dmg nodes, some fire dmg nodes detonate dead (q10 is enough for 30% faster cast)+elemental profiltration+chance to ignite+increased area of effect and... it's miles better - one mob dies, rest follow him shortly. It's extremly usefull during indoor map runs where minions AI screws their dmg worse then anything else - throw in couple conversion traps, monsters instagib their comrades and then you blow corpses - full room is cleared. Since detonate dead fire dmg is based on dead monsters hp it scales well without any investments into power/freenzy charges, crit chance/multiplier nodes etc. So playing around with detonate dead i got great minions, healthy sirvivability (6K es with average gear), and great aoe (especially for times when spectres fall over). P.S. Since i don't see how 5-6L can improve spectres in other way then IIR and IIQ (dmg is already enough with 4L tbh) i'm considering trying 6L detonate corpse with fire pen and increased ignite dmg. " Maps are slow. Maps contain enormous risk. The risk vs reward isn't there. You have to spend huge amount of currency to get the right right. That takes time. Forming a map group takes time. The IIR/IIQ masked it well. I can clear non-maps area 20 to 30 times fasters than maps and without any risk solo. I get 15 to 30 times the currency than it takes to finish one map. Do you ever onder why there are so many farmers selling maps? Well they not farming maps. They are the smart farmers. |

" Are we talking about same build? What mods contain enormous risk for summoner with 78 resist all/immunity chaos and all that meatshields runing around? If you're undergeared i understand, but with medium gear nothing will touch you. Also 20 to 30 times faster clears? 80% maps take me 5-10 mins to clear and you want to say that you clear lunaris or docks at 15-30 sec speed? Even discharge farm builds aren't that fast. Only maps that take moderate amount of time to clear are 71+ but then again quality of items droped there is incomparable with A3 farm areas. Also why play summoner when almost any other build will farm A3 trash zones faster? And about groups - as summoner you play with 1-2 friends or don't play at all becouse you bring nothing to group compared to freezing pulse, spork, discharge and many other builds. You can grab 3 tentacle miscreations that won't rape others fps too much, use 3 curses but other builds can use 3 curses and provide more dps then tentacle miscreations without risk of them dieing and you being forced to search for them again or pick a random archer. |
