Face Breaker Unarmed Build?

What about totems, traps, and mines? And Summons.

And Enduring Cry with Immortal Call or Discharge.

I think it's safe to say that Resolute Technique will go well here. No downside, all benefit. I also think it's safe to say that the low base physical damage makes Hatred too expensive with too little benefit under any circumstance.

I also think its safe to say that quivers are providing in intended benefit, and we can expect that to change at some point. Would this indicate, perhaps, adding a shield to the mix? I don't like getting used to one benefit then later having it nerfed (or in this case, fixed).

I have a lv 46 marauder I'd be willing to respec (used to be my main, blood magic bow marauder, stopped playing after 0.9.11) if we could come up with a solid build and I can get ahold of the gloves and some regrets. Only problem is I play off of a net book that already barely runs fast enough to be playable.. I don't know how well it'd handle running a screen cast program in the background. But he does have most of the skills we're discussing: a leveled Anger, Frenzy, and Wrath, a lv1 Molten Shell in my stash, as well as an abandoned Hatred gem.

I'd need to borrow or trade for a reduced cost support for the auras, though (I think that's a must have if we're going 3 auras with the build).

I guess it's all depending on finding a free screen cast proggie and seeing if I can run it with PoE.

EDIT: Despite thinking Hatred is too expensive, it might be necessary. Seems we're scrounging around for as much dps as possible.

I got to 16 with a shadow. Using the gloves was nice, but the build wasn't panning out by level 25. I was having a lot of trouble against Act 2 boss, so I unequipped them off my shadow before they fell into default league :P

I think we'll have to wait for some more unarmed skills before this kind of build will work.... or maybe the Shadow just stinks at being a melee fighter :P

Speaking of.. I was thinking a few existing skills would be nice and flavorful with Face Breaker, like Heavy Strike (elicits the image of a hulking brute throwing haymakers) and such.. Perhaps, Devs willing, adding something like "Counts as a weapon for purpose of skill gems socketed to Face Breaker." or something.. Would enable an unarmed build without having to make up all new niche skills for it?

A wonderful addition to this discussion indeed. :P

This will be really cool to do! Imagine a cutthroat party with some kind of Face-Breaker Party!
a good wake of destruction will probably catapult your damage to new magnitudes.

if i deEquip them with my ranger i get like 50% less dps from 2k down to 1k
I'm actually playing this through right now as a sion. Basically grabbing as much attack speed and flat physical damage bonus as I can, working my way down into the marauder tree. Infernal blow works just fine with unarmed attacks and I'm looking into grabbing vengeance and double strike. Double strike requires some dex but I'm looking into the support skills life for mana, life leech, and the bonus life per hit stacking up with double strike and just using vengeance for my aoe.

I just hit level 16 and started using the gloves and with infernal blow my dps is sitting (with very bad equipment) in the low 180's.
oh wtf are you doing digging up a post from two and a half years ago lol. Also, what on earth are you doing to find a thread like this xD

Edit: Make that 3 years ago on the dot
Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.

Lol didn't even look at the dates, I was checking on what would affect unarmed attacks, seeing if they counted as one handed or two handed, or dual weapons. Sadly it seems none of them
I use THIS build but my gear is a little different at the moment but is working well at level 65.

My gear is ....

Spoiler

My current Passive Tree.

Oh, I also don't solo with this character. It's been altered slightly to fit in with a 4 player party. I only exclusively play this character with said party.
