Rainbowstride vs Rare boots?

So..went ahead and got me a pair of Rainbowstrides...mostly cause of the resists on them, but i think i misunderstood the ES part a bit..since i'm loosing ES using RS instead of the rares...(i get that 34 int does it's part)



Where am i thinking wrong? i would expect that the x% es increase would apply globally?

It does not, it only applies on the original ES of the boots. The final ES of the boots is already shown on the boots themselves.

EDIT: the 34 int provides 6% global ES (at 1% per 5 points of int)

If an item has some attribute in it, such as evasion on helm, physical damage on a sword, or ES on boots, then the x% increase in that attribute is local.


I think the wording on boots for that kinda increase would need to be: "x% increased maximum energy shield".

well rainbowstrides are good boots, spell block, that +92 mana and all res is very nice :)

Valid point, but it's like a 7% spellblock in total om my charsheet..

you need specific gear for that, (amu boots shield) and lots and lots of shield / block nodes in the passive tree

Why do you need specific gear ? 7 spell block is good.

How good exactly do these boots need to be ? I'm not saying that's the ONLY reason I use them it just tends to put them better than 99% of the rare boots I've seen.


I mean really ... They have only good mods. People need to be somewhat realistic.
