[Not a bug] Major Explosive Arrow Problem
I figured this would be the best place to mention this since I have tested it and confirmed that when 2 people are attacking with Explosive Arrow they can overlap yet only the damage gets dealt as if it were on person. The best way I can explain this is like so: (and this is how I confirmed it in game) I put up 5 Explosive Arrow stacks, my friend who is playing with me, who is also using Explosive Arrow is also putting them up at the same time, but slightly slower. So after waiting the 1 second for the fuses to blow I noticed times were getting longer and longer for the fuses to blow which lead me to realize if I put up my 5 fuses, and my friend is just starting to put theirs up, then MY fuses actually get prolonged or even overridden possibly and the fuses then decide to explode after the LAST person's fuse goes in and the 1 second delay is met. It seems as though the game doesn't differentiate that the Explosive Arrow stacks are coming from 2 different origins and is just seeing seeing the Explosive Arrows themselves and continuously stacking them no matter who the source may be, which completely negates one (or more if multiple people are using Explosive Arrow) of the players damage. I'm not sure if this is working as intended but I'd like to think that's not intended seeing as in groups with multiple Explosive Arrow players only one player would actually be doing damage and the others would just be wasting their time.
PS. I emailed this to support and they emailed me back pointing me here so I just pasted what I wrote them. My friend also sent a very similar email but got a response back saying that Explosive Arrow is in fact not supposed to be acting this way. Just wanted to get this out here and hopefully get it fixed. IGN: @Swagridd Last edited by Mark_GGG#0000 on Jun 26, 2013, 2:26:26 AM

Doesn't sound like a bug to me. EA applies a Fuse Charge to the enemy. Whether you fire EA or your bud does, it applies the same (de)Buff. Similarly, you cannot both Ignite an enemy, because Ignite doesn't stack.

I understand the ignite doesn't stack, but the technical support person assured us that the EA stacks should not be interfering with one another. So our explosions should both go off rather than whoever sinks last shot.

Yeah, I was the one told directly from the Support team that it was a malfunction and it isn't working as intended. I know about the ignite stuff, it's the idea that the explosives I put on an enemy and the other person running with me - with the same build - can't both shoot at the same targets. Things just won't go off at all. So lets say I only stack 4 arrows into a target... if someone else in my party does have the same build as me as soon as he throws one arrow at that target none of my arrows will explode.
I hope this gets fixed soon because it gets a bit tricky when dealing with this issue. |

This is not a bug. Explosive arrows only care that they are explosive arrows, not which skill they came form.

" Well I'm confused as to why the email we got back said that another players timers should not interfere with my timers. So I guess this means 2 people running Explosive Arrow isn't a very viable option if they can be overridden buy each other which is still kind of odd if we're both putting in the effort to do DPS. " What happens if one player uses GMP or Quill Rain or other modifiers to arrow damage and the other player does not? How is damage calculated? |
![]() |
The first explosive arrow which sticks in a target determinates the damage that will be dealt.
All other fuses which are applied afterwards just count towards the number of fuses, up to 4 additional ones. The game doesn't care about supports or source of explosive arrows but the first. [e] Quill Rain isn't reducing the explosion damage, because it's reducing attack damage by 50%. Explosive arrows explosion is just projectile fire damage. No attack or weapon modifers alternate it.
