How do people get 3-4k health and 10k armor?

I don't want some help, just posting my gear to show him how I pass the 4K bar without an all in HP gear. But I don't have 10K armor.

Sorry for the gems, I have actually my MF gear equipped (2.8K life). My chest is correct and I usualy play with :
Anger + Wrath + Discipline + Reduced Mana in my Helmet.
Elemental Hit + Faster Attacks + Weapon Elemental Damage + Culling Strike in my Boots.

For Merciless, to get max resists and a large health pool, you will strive for gear with +life and at least 2 resists. On every piece of gear you own (except weapon).

Also, if you are concerned about Armor, you should be using pure armor or pure evasion gear, not armor/energy shield. Since you took Iron Reflexes, Armor/Evasion is ok, but you can get more armor from pure armor or pure evasion gear.

I have cap res with 1 diamond skin.

you chose bad life nodes,try to avoid the 6% ones as much as possible,also the 0.4 life regen nodes are pretty shit.try this,1 more skill point,24% more life.I then took diamond flesh,and removed the +15% passives,you will lose 3% all resist,but gain 10 str and 2 more skill points

I have 17k armor 2 k hp doing well so far lvl70 and still my gear is crap most of it

I have yet to crack the secret of 3-4k HP (have good health bonuses on gear, but not enough life nodes it seems), but a good man named 2OfSpades taught me, that taking the Iron Reflexes keystone then running with the Grace (evasion) aura - will get you around the 10k armour mark with only a handful of armour-boosting passives.

also, my gear is pure str. using mixed str/dex "Duelist gear" would probably get you around 15k armour with Iron Reflexes and Grace. add Determination to the mix, and you are looking at over 20k armour before touching that Granite Flask.

What's your actual build? Like what skills are you using?
