Low Life farm witch

Working on witch who's main purpose is to take advantage of Low life items and the increased IQ/IR gems.

Items would include
2xAndvarius
Ignomom
Parandus
Wondertrap
Sadima's Touch
Heatshiver or Hyrri's Mark
2xRedbeak

Aura
Clarity->Blood Magic
Grace
Disc

Freeze Pulse+IQ+IR+CritD+LMP

I know I'd get owned by chaos damage, but I've actually been using the wondertrap I found, and it's been really fun so far, so I want to take it a step further.

I think I've built it in such a way, that I could choose to ditch the whole Low Life Item set, and not really need to respec much..

I've tried an idea like that but with Cold to Fire and added lightning instead of IR\IQ gems and was running Elemental Equilibrium instead of Pain Attunement (since it was costly to obtain before 0.9.11).

That build worked pretty nice until ruthless, and then it was severely nerfed by 0.9.11 patch, since all the hp nodes like Fitness and Divine became scattered, and even more - occasional +6% hp were also removed.

How are you actually going to get all this stuff and complete your build with initial idea of low-life is beyond my comprehension.

I already have the shoes, blood magic and the IR gem. I mainly need the rings, the swords, and the IQ gem. I have Pain attunement already. I've been progressing with 17 hp and 800 ES. It's doable.

The build actually works pretty well, except in places that do chaos damage, ie snakes spiders and PA skeletons. In that case I rearrange some skills. It deactivates part of the build, but that's fine because I do that to progress. Farming wise, we'll have our choice of where to farm, so it would be less detrimental.
I played a low life build up to lvl 64, then switched, because there was just too much chaos damage flying around and CI was too powerful to pass up.

In theory you could get enough maps to pick and choose your spots and only farm maps that you could deal with, but in reality I found that this was not the case, I did not find many maps, which means doing maps that suck, and farming chaos damage filled pyramid for more maps. Half the time I wasn't able to have low life active, basically wasting the build.

Not to say it doesn't work: it does, and you do TONS of damage. You can also run Righteous Fire since you're not using CI, for completely ridiculous insane damage. But it's just not as efficient farming as using CI atm.

Thanks for the insight. I've come to the same conclusion recently. I think part of the problem is that CI makes you immune to Chaos, but nowhere is there even a slight RESISTANCE node. It seems that GGG had something great going with Low Life items, but really aren't fostering it in the way they should. I made it to 42, and ruthless. With Dual Redbeaks and PA, I had a permanent 230% damage buff. Freezing pulse was up to almost 800 dps with a 375 Multiplier and 23% crit chance. I was one shotting nearly everything. But I kept dying, as I only had about 900 ES and 160 life. Switch to CI and it's much easier now, even with my dps cut in half. But I am hoping GGG will make some changes to foster this type of build.
I've been finding the same... stacked Redbeak, Crown of Thorns, Wondertrap - DPS was great but I am dying a lot more than I'm happy with. A few shots of chaos dmg and I'm dead. I'm going to grab CI and regear a bit and see how it does - I'll be gaining a lot more stats as I regear too, since the uniques are all low level - I think it will overall be an easier playstyle, albeit not as much damage. It would have been nice for endgame if it was a little heartier, but I don't want to have to worry about dying all the time in the Pyramid and such.

I think that it's possible, if we can convince the dev's to tone back some of the Chaos damage. They've clearly designed for Low Life to be a build, but they currently aren't doing enough to support it.
Even a new keystone that says something like: Low Life abilities now activate at 50%.

There are only 2 chaos damage resistance nodes ,but they only give 3% resistance and are near the Maraduer starting area.So yeah not much you can do about it.
As it stands now chaos damage is grossly overpowered and you cant do nothing against it especially with this build (well you could go with Chaos Invocation but that would mean abandoning Pain Attunement).

I still dont get why GGG still hasn't implemented proper Chaos Damage resistance nodes ,but useless skills like Acrobatics or Phase Acrobatics are still present.

Its quite a shame really since the build is very interesting and extremely well made build.

I agree. I managed to get dual redbeaks and PA. At around level 40 I was doing close to 800 dps on my freeze pulse. at level 47, with a CI build, I'm at around 560ish. Maybe if they tone back chaos damage, dual redbeak/PA LL builds would become OP? Perhaps we should bring this up in the general beta board?

Its so sad, caos damage destroys the nice build.
English is my third language, there will be bugs.
