Low Level Mana Problems

ok, so i'm brand new to this game - lvl 22 shadow - dual claws

i'm running with a 2% mana steal ring, a 2% mana steal gloves, and the 2% mana steal passive, as well as clarity aura.

i'm STILL having dramas keeping the mana up to use dual strike as my main attack.

does your mana steal eventually scale up enough with damage that you begin to only use gem attacks as your main attack? like diablo? or will i always need to be drinking mana flasks like mad???

i want to use frenzy as my main attack, but the current 15 mana to cast it seems out of sight given the 9 mana dual strike is causing problems even with all this mana leech stuff.

cheers!!!

looooving the game, by the way
I'm a level twenty-ONE dual claw shadow, I have half as much mana steal as you, and I only need one mana flask to keep up Dual Strike. The only thing I can think of is that your damage just sucks ass so you're not filling the flasks fast enough.

Try to use a stronger but slower weapon. This will make the overall cost lower in fights.
Ours is the Fury
Skills are supposed to be mana intensive to encourage players to use other options like blood magic and eldritch battery to support their abilities. If your build has mana problems there are ways to fix it by changing your build.

thanks for the responses guys.

just rechecked and i have dual strike supported, so the 12 mana is giving me the issue.

i am using pretty fast weapons and some attack speed passives... hmmm...

would just more damage passives even it out?

i plan on going IC. wouldn't eldritch battery kill me???
oh also, i am filling flasks and drinking them, but would like to not have to worry about it so much...

If you take CI an EB you end up with 1hp and 0es.

Try supporting dual strike with mana leech.

what lvl clarity, and post build

you can def get out of the mana hole with a little work.

By default, characters regenerate 1.75% of their maximum mana per second, and you get 1 mana per 2 int

you can build up your mana regen with a combo of more + mana and mana regen jewelry, along with mana regen passives and working along int lines on the tree.

my lvl 36 shadow w/lvl 4 clarity
mana 480 (-120)
int 180
mana regen 32/s
power siphon cost 51/s

and this all depends, ofc, on what jewelry i happen to be switched on to.
(those stats are with no mana regen and +28 mana from jewelry)

my build there. going for CI, ghost reaver, the claws life leech passives, and energy shield stuff.

plan to use frenzy supported by "adds power charges on crit" gem and dispel.

i'm brand new to the game, but i do a fair bit of research when i choose a game.

not sure how i show my gear, but it's just stuff i found along the way
Sounds to me like you might have too many support gems for your level. If you go for some of the more expensive support, it turns out not to be worth it overall.
