on top of that hc isnt just clicking skills there is a reason why the hc community is more mature you have to accept total loss in a blink of an eye this attitude doesnt come over night
believe me i sat in front of my screen losing a 90+ sorc and saying to myself really wtf why come on this sucks damm i hate this game
That's not maturity level, that a different personality completely.

Some people don't care to hold on to stuff they've acquired, they are in the moment, others want to hold on to every little thing they've every held and every shade of that in between.

HC doesn't make you more leet, it just means you don't care about losing your stuff.

Lol, if you are seriously trying to tell me I play HC because I don't care about losing everything I just spend the last month working towards, you need to actually ask some HC players why they play HC and not make your own baseless assumptions.

Playing HC in D3 and PoE I can tell you everytime I die it is the worst feeling ever (D3 worse as even if you wanted to play SC you couldn't, even though I don't play SC in PoE). You can check how many hours you have played each character, and knowing that everything those hours worked towards is now gone, it is a truly depressing feeling.

Were those hours wasted? By no means! Starting over can kind of be lame, but some people enjoy the fresh start, the novelty in it. Regardless of whether or not you like having to start over again, playing HC is more than just, "I'm careless bla bla bla."

And for the record, no, it doesn't make you more leet, it's all about how the player feels.

*dons psychiatrists hat* and says in a calm tranquil voice:

Tell me cypherrage, why do you play HC.

And for the record, I never said you were careless, just that HC's don't care if they lose everything, maybe they do care but as you say when YOU care you feel horrible when you lose it all...is that how video games are supposed to make you feel? Horrible?

Just my take on it all.

I personally enjoy the risk that I take (because I know that if I die that I won't be playing him anymore). You could say, "Well hey cypherrage, why don't you play SC and just make a new character when you die?" Silly question, requires no answer, not to mention the economy in HC is different due to there being an item sink.

Do I feel like me taking this risk makes me better than SC players? No, but I feel like the "risk" factor is why anyone ever wants to play a "HC" version of a game. Risk is what makes so many things in life exciting. The greater the risk the greater the reward.

Lol, maybe my reflexes are too slow, but when shit's going down, I never think about pressing alt+f4 or esc+logout. Maybe you have to get used to doing it over and over, but I just try to battle it out or die. I'm curious how many people actually use alt+f4/esc+logout. Kind of ironic given all the high level player deaths in Onslaught so far, obviously they didn't think of it either.

Back on topic a little, I think it would be pretty cool if you had two choices once you died in HC:

1. Resurrect in Softcore
2. Character wiped + Trophy for your Account

If you select #1 nothing would change from the current setup, but if you select #2 you get a trophy on your account with character name/class/level and the trophy would be different based on level achieved. You could then post your trophies as forum sigs under your posts.

I also really dig the trophy suggestion.
Are you sure?
I think that ggg should make something like an item that you use on your teammate that died and then you would have to fight some hell crazy strong tier 16 boss to resurrect your friend that you just used the item on, but if you died on this hell map you would be permanently dead, also, you would need to do that in, lets say, 1-3 hours, or your teammate would die for good, and, you would be able to do that only 2 time, the thrid time you died, a demon hand would push your boddy from the ground and you would be dead for good without hope.

But that item would be really rare, and cost something like 80-100 chaos on a regular market.

Currently, most of the people that play sc, play sc because of the death mechanic, and those who play hc, most of them, dont do the end game content.

Doing something like what i said would bring more people to the end game content and to the hc leagues.

This wont ruin the hc felling because you wouldnt always have that item and that map or even if you did you mb would not have a friend to do the map and risk his character for you.
Let the dead rest...this refers to the thread, not HC characters.
