Dying in Hardcore

what ? that makes zero sense at all

my 82 hc was born the first day on open beta took me 5 month to get to 82 with casual grind would i play more when i die ?

no why should i the journey is the most fun

there are casual hc player i have no idea why you assume hc player = some nolife nerd who plays 14h a day

and if you cant accept the fact that a hc player has in average more knowledge about gameplay and mechanics compared to a standard player you are close minded

btw you wont get anything other than fun out of a videogame and if you like to jerk of to your items in a league where everybody is a winner so be it (look i have a 6l i only died 150+times)
dont see a challenge in that its like playing stockmarket without real money no thrill at all

Why does anyone care at all what anyone else is doing?

To me I think we need as many players as possible to support this game so that we can all play for many years to come. Why would anyone care how I play if it does not affect them? I certainly don't begrudge anyone playing the way they want to...

There are great reasons why people play where they do, its a genius way for GGG to give everyone something to do. I also agree that moving the HC to standard upon death opens up HC to a larger audience, no way I am playing HC if months of my effort are gone in a heartbeat....

Say you had a hardcore penis and it was great but then you made a mistake.

Would you want your penis to be deleted permanently or would you want your penis to become a standard penis instead?

Back on topic a little, I think it would be pretty cool if you had two choices once you died in HC:

1. Resurrect in Softcore
2. Character wiped + Trophy for your Account

If you select #1 nothing would change from the current setup, but if you select #2 you get a trophy on your account with character name/class/level and the trophy would be different based on level achieved. You could then post your trophies as forum sigs under your posts.

Excellent idea.

Think of it as a little reward besides just "bragging rights". You get to goof around, should you want to, on the character on softcore.
I keep my dead high levels in case I want to test something or as is the case recently, a respec comes along and you want to try out a build.

That's not maturity level, that a complete different personality.

Some people don't care to hold on to stuff they've acquired, they are living in the moment. Others want to hold on to every little thing they've ever held. And then there is every shade of person in between those two extremes.

HC doesn't make you more leet, it just means you don't care about losing your stuff.

That right there is the difference. Most people in regular play ARE happy and ARE having fun not comparing themselves to everyone else. It's all the egotistical HC players that are CONSTANTLY comparing themselves to everyone else that make me question their motives and if they are actually having fun playing a video game. I mean if you really want a challenge...pistols at high noon, lets see who the "real man" is.
