[0.11.0d] (Currently leveling on Onslaught) Lightning Arrow CI Shadow Build! CI/Ghost/Reflexes
" Well, you really don't need more than 10% chance to shock in reality, because most of the time you will be in a group with a spork build who shock stack a LOT better than you and more. It's just nice to have for the solo and also the 5% you get from shadow comes with a reward of lighting dmg increase, hence why I started a shadow and you can grab it so early in levels that it makes your soloing a lot faster through the early levels if you manage to shock stack bosses. |

" I personally did all 3 skill points |

" It's not bad, but with the path you took, I think you might as well stick with life based. If you plan on respecing you'll need a lot of refund points since you will have to find a few new ways to get the things you got. But it's still doable :) Coming up with your own build, is part of the fun for this game, so keep at it! |

" The thing is, I get resolute technique, which makes it so you can't crit. If you want a good crit build LA, i think ranger or duelist is the way to go, since you are right next to a ton of crit nodes for bow. As to vaal pact, I changed my build around to include it, since it was to hard to survive off of life leech over time. And to be honest, I am not sure why I didn't get it before. So you are right on that part! :) |

Build itself seems pretty solid but there are couple things I'm concerned about.
#1. You are missing alot damage in late game. My advice would be to get Lionseye and forget the Resolute Technique #2. Will you be using Blood Rage? Free Frenzy Charges as CI, Life Leech #3. Since Blood Rage gives Frenzy Charges I think you should take Frenzy Charge from Kraityn in Merciless and change the route a little to crab the extra Frenzy Charge right next to Nullification passive. #4. Personally I don't see the idea of Iron Reflexes as ranged but you might just want to feel special. Also I see your playing in Onslaught where there is no Eye of Chayula or Dream Fragments. As ranged you really shouldn't worry about getting frozen, especially with high dps, and I think (personally) that your took IR because of missing Eye of Chayula. But your build is good and I modified it to fit my needs more since I already got 5L Lionseye, I'm playing in Softcore and I don't feel the need of armor. I have done other CI characters earlier and none of them so far had the IR. I took alot from your build and modified to my build: http://tinyurl.com/m8fpr8n You might also think that now I have no STR nodes selected but good 40+ STR Heavy Belt and 20+ All attributes Onyx amulet covers that, ofcourse Onyx Amulet doesn't exist in Onslaught either. I also try to avoid 6% ES nodes like the one behind Arcane Focus, which I covered by taking +30 INT node right under shadow starting area, which is 6% ES and +15 mana, which I find more useful. Mind Drinker is also for me in consideration when I get to use my 5L and see how much mana it's eating and how fast. But that's only 2 points more which can be taken off from crit multiplier in lower right corner of passive tree. What comes to skills I would propably use these. 5L/6L LA: Lightning Arror - Weapon Elemental Damage - Life Leech - Lesser Multiple Projectiles - Mana Leech - Power Charge on Crit or Critical Chance Some explaining about why not Chain. First of all until high level Chain gem it reduces your damage alot, also I had a 78lvl LA ranger with Chain first but I just didn't feel the need for it. Since Lightning Arrow already jumps to 3 more nearby enemies and your are shooting 3 projectiles that is 9 hits already, which to me seems more than enough. Somebody might want to try Greater Multiple Projectiles, but making use of all 5 projectiles becomes alot harder, and therefore you're losing damage, not to mention how much it already lowers your damage and increases mana cost. For single target like you, I would use Elemental Hit, since I get my Frenzy Charges from Blood Rage, I don't need that. I would link that like this. Elemental Hit - Weapon Elemental Damage - Life Leech - Mana Leech (if needed) - Faster Attacks - Added Lightning/Added Chaos Auaras: Clarity - Purity - Discipline - Reduced Mana Curse and mobility: Conductivity - Faster Casting - Reduced Mana - Lightning Warp Distraction: Summon Skeletons - Spell Totem - Faster Casting - Blood Rage Now what comes to the stats with the items I would go for following. Chest: +600ES, Int/Mana, Resist Helm: +200ES, Int/Mana, Resist, Quantity and Rarity are bonus Gloves: Maligaro's Virtuosity for full DPS OR Gloves: +100ES, Int/Mana, Resist, Attack Speed, Flat elemental and physical damage, Quantity and Rarity are bonus Boots: Rainbowstride OR Boots: +100ES, Int/Mana, Resist, Movement Speed, Quantity and Rarity are bonus Rings: +Maximum Energy Shield, Resist, STR if needed, Attack Speed, Mana and Life Leech, Quantity and Rarity are bonus Amulet: Eye of Chayula OR Amulet: Maximum Energy Shield, All Attributes, Resist, Crit Chance, Crit Multiplier, Mana and Life Leech Quiver: Resist, Attack Speed, Faster Projectiles, Mana and Life Leech, Weapon Elemental Damage, Crit Chance, Crit Multiplier Bandits: Normal = Kill all Cruel = Kill all Merciless = Help Kraityn for Frenzy Charge I will be happy to try answer questions if they come up by OP or anyone else. I'm not a master but these are just my thoughts. IF someone actually read this wall of text, thank you and I am more than happy to read comment and feedback about what I said here. There might be some typos here and there (haven't slept for 30hours now), but I tried to check for those and if you find anything that seems to be odd or mistake for you, say it and I check if it's really a mistake or just my opinion. PS. In Path of Exile there is not a one real way to play your character and that makes the game which I like. You can make an crazy build with super high damage and low survival just for the crazynes itself or just for fun. Every build is somehow good, not to everyone but to it's maker it might be good enough. Not everyone is looking for best possible gear, build or clearing speed. Most people who play video games (I hope) are just playing them for fun, killing time and that's what video games should be. Last edited by Qraparta#6602 on Jun 16, 2013, 7:08:09 PM
