I pretty much stopped reading right there.

Prime example would be Diablo 2. PVP not only drove the economy. Diablo 2 was also fairly balanced in terms of pvp.

he may have been wrong about that( i dont agree either) but the rest of his post had a lot of good points that i agree with you should read it.

Also the second the focus in developement shifts from PvE to PvP in this game(meaning we start getting pvp balance patches etc..).... I'm out. Once that starts it a never ending cycle of endless QQ from both PvP and PvE players alike until in the end all variety is destroyed in the name of balance and fuck that shit.

Im sorry, but what in blue hell are you talking about?

Again, il use D2 as an example. PVP pretty much drove that economy and was pretty balanced.

Its not hard to do. There will always be a cycle of endless QQ on every subject. PVP included.

Honestly, you need to relax. Or just quit now.

BTW its PVM and PVP. Not PVE.

Implement it, don't balance for it, let the QQ flow.

PVP is very important to a big part of the population. Thats because the endless grind can get pretty tiresome after awhile and pvp helps to change things up and give all of the grinding more meaning.

Its a terrible idea to devote no effort at all into pvp. There are some relatively simple fixes that could make pvp a lot more fun in this game. How about fixing the glaringly obvious out of balance skills for pvp only. No one wants the skills messed up in PVE. I know the devs are smart enough to make pvp better without messing up the core game.

The "not stimulating the economy" argument is completley absurd.

Qouted for truth
IGN: lVlage (96 Witch)
This game is balanced around silly end game monster damage. PvP needs balancing of its own to the extent of a separate passive tree and separate gem leveling mechanics altogether. Anyone who has ever seen the video of Kripp and Invalesco standing toe to toe and bashing each other in the face while achieving absolutely nothing would quickly realize this.

You also need to look at nuances like mele ability cast times, it's kind of retarded to watch cutthroat races where the time it takes to stop and cast glacial hammer, is enough time for someone to simply step out of range.

D2's PvP had zero balance, but that was fine in that application.

There were tons of useless builds + gear that were perfectly good against critters, but perfectly useless against PvP builds, but it didn't matter because nobody build a Ribcracker barb or a Kuko sorceress to go PvP with, everyone had their farmer, their "fun" builds like that, and then a Smiter (or maybe V/T or Liberator) a WWBarb, a CSZon, and a Trapsin, maybe a Wind Druid, and 99.9% of PvP games were about managing matchups between those builds based on their strength, or just flat-out being more skilled at the minor details involving combat, which also let you take oddball builds in AND WIN (see also: Plaguezon, Volcano Druid, WoF/Bowsin etc etc etc.)

But for the uninspired or grown-ups too busy to farm farm farm all the time, you could reasonably assemble a PvP-ready build with minor effort due to the availability of cheating-ass duped gear, and then go have fun in the community. PoE probably won't ever have this aspect - PvP will probably always be limited to absolute top-tier min/maxed gear due to the nature of drops & the economy - At least in Standard, I have high hopes for the League economies being better.

Wait what? Why does the game need a separate passive tree and gem leveling mechanics? That makes no sense.

Again look at D2. D2 pvp is simple which is what made it so popular.

And when I say D2 pvp I mean D2 in its prime. Before Enigmas.
