"Return" stands for "Carriage return" (a special mark placed at the end of the line to let computer know you want to start typing in another row). It's older than "Enter" and actually makes more sense as you can also read it as "Return result of action".

And speaking of WINE, it's gone a very long way and is pretty darn good right now. Most Windows games (and other software, like PhotoShop) work flawlessly in it, with a couple of exceptions of course (games which require Games for Windows Live), most notably League of Legends which won't work under WINE for unknown reasons.
