Fisting in 11.1 HanFistedFirst - Lvl 81 Facebreaker/Bringer of Rain Melee Build [Updated]

I switched to this from a basic infernal blow/melee splash build using an axe around 300 phys dps. I was getting about 14k single target dps with the axe. Spent around 8-9 GCP total on carnage heart, decent facebreakers, and meginords, now I do over 24k single target and about 17k splash. Granted, that it with less than max resists and only if I'm not using two andvarius rings. When using two andvarius' melee splash is probably around 11k and my resists obviously suck.

I need max phys dps rings with resists still, but until I get those I used regals on two that I rolled annealed on which appears to be the highest range you can get on rings (9-15).

The boots probably hurt overall opposed to life/tri-res, but I don't have any great boots and the gore footprints add to the overall MANLINESS.
First, why not go for the melee damage nodes? As long as it's just melee physical damage and not 1 or 2 hand nodes, they should increase your dps, right?

Second, would an abyssus be better for damage with the 40-50 damage on it? Then you could get a 6 link chest for inf blow. JW

"(40-50)% increased Physical Damage taken from Attacks" it's the damage taken by you, not monsters

Abyssus is more DPS but likely requires a different build to be fully safe due to increased damage. I know I wouldn't do infernal blow on it without immortal call and 2 enduring cries socketted.

The melee damage nodes are increases in dps, yes, but are marginal at best. The best way to increase dps for facebreaker builds is to get items with high x-y physical damage stats.
Got a Facebreaker and tried out leveling with them and the dps is really bad on single targets. The aoe from infernal blow is fine of course since it scales with mod hp, but killing single rares takes forever...

Do you need a really high rolled Facebreaker to do decent damage on single targets before getting bringer of rain because the dps I'm seeing is kind of pathetic. I throw Geofri's Baptism on and my dps is 4 times higher.

Was really hoping the fisting would be a little more... well... punchy.

what's your belt? you need meginord's girdle, dps is really insane, i kill everything a shoot. btw, you shouldn't equip any weapon.

What level/act are you? At level 40 I'm one shotting my way through act 3 cruel right now (over 4k DPS with multistrike-fasterattacks-meleesplash-IB). Most rares die in 1 or 2 multistrikes. The bigger ones like the rocks may take 3. DPS from 971% to 808% facebreakers falls maybe 20%, so high rolling them isnt a big difference.

Yeah I know, my point is I'm find it difficult to justify using the Facebreaker when I can hit 4 times harder with a mace. I had it on weapon swap so I could leap slam occasionally but just ended up using it to kill stuff because it was so much faster.

I'm not using meginord's, since I'm using Perandus because IIQ is OP I am however using some really nice +physical rings that gives a similar boost to meginord's, and Daresso's salute for another damage boost.

I'll get a meginord's as well and give that a go because 900% of 15 is kind of a lot.

Not really a fan of comparing numbers alone, but what kind of DPS are you doing on your Facebreakers as compared to your Geofri's?

The bulk of your damage, as Justicemilk pointed out, comes from the flat Physical damage mods, due to Facebreaker's massive amplification. You're most likely to get these mods on Bringer, 2x Ring with Phys damage, and Meginord's.

MF and QF are great, but to be honest, while it IS mathematically possible to MF/QF with a Facebreaker build, you're going to need really solid rolls on a tri-res rare shield and a tri-res rare boots, to make up for the inevitable double Andvariuses.

In any case, give Meginord's a go, and for comparison, my pre-Bringer DPS was 5k+; my post-Bringer DPS at 67 was a straight 10k+ bump to 15k.
Kazang, what level are you? Your DPS literally jumps through the roof as soon as you can use one of the big phys damage helms.

As for levelling, I more or less one-two shot everything outside of oranges, but I always wore Meginord's.
