Why do people think exalt is rarer than divine

easy: because they see a (much) lower value in it.

I have found 4 divines and about 7/8 exalts (cant really remember). that being said I have yet to use a divine for anything other than trades whereas i actually use exalts AND trade them thus needing them more.
I think I have found more exalts than blessed orbs. I wish divine orbs were a touch more useful to compensate for the rarity. IGN- Shaeyaena

Their rarity, which has been confirmed by devs as much higher than exalt, is based upon the fact that they are the most powerful orb available, capable of maximizing those top mod rolls that people seek out.
Bottom line.... Exalted makes an item, Divine make that item as good as it can be. Simple. Why people think otherwise, and why they devalue the divine has always been beyond me, and I long ago gave up trying to tell people differently. I've picked up a roughly similar amount of both. Maybe a few more divines. Blew 6 just the other day on a totally mediocre item (who cares about legacy leagues?).
The reason people value exalts more is because of usability, very few people get to the point of not only having divines to use, but gear to use them on. It really doesn't matter if they think an exalted is less rare or not, it functionally has no purpose for the vast majority of cases. |

" I'm fairly certain this view is shared by most high-level, experienced players. Even then though, I've literally never truly had an item worth divining. Even if I did have one, I'd most probably get marginal gains from it. How can I value it highly if it doesn't have a purpose? Also, I fully expect divines to raise in value going forward as the level/quality of gear increases. |
