Also 5/6-link allows you to add rarity gem to get better items. Can't really do that with a 4-link without killing your build. And i would argue there is a HUGE difference.
Using a 4-link getting less then 1k damage. ppl posting their 6-link getting 10k+ damage. Seems like a pretty huge difference to me. Of coarse you have to add the gems required for those builds are more rare then getting a 5-link armor.

you're all tripping balllsss. Yes, 6L is overpowered. For Every Class. For Every Item. It is strictly better than lower links. However, it is something that is very difficult to attain, unlike the 'path of life nodes' which is overpowered all through the entire game and is unavailable to some characters. Whereas 6L is hard to get, which it SHOULD be (otherwise ggg would lose longevity in their game), AND is available to every single class and character (unlike the 'path of life nodes').

By all your guys logic then Harbinger Bow is overpowered compared to Crude Bow because it is strictly better and hard to get. OMFG MAKE HARBINGER EASIER TO GET!! BALANCE THE GAME AROUND CRUDE BOW!! loloolololoolol

lastly, i have play 1 character, join groups occasionally and have never cheated or multiboxed - and i have a 5L 6s lioneye's glare (which took some hard trading, also fun) and a 5L evasion armour, all my other items are 4L (which was soo easy to attain). and im happy with my character. so why are you all tripping ballz over 6L?

If you REALLY need a 6l so badly, just swallow the 2 exalt cost of a tabula.
Hell, that's what i did. I value 6 links more than a nicely rolled chest and 5 links, so i use a tabula.

Now that the eternal orb is coming, i'll probably stick with it too. I can just perfect-roll my other slots first, and stick with tabula until i'm either done with the other slots, or get lucky and find a kaom's.

Clearly the solution is to add yet another orb instead of I don't know, not making 6 linking needing 1500 damn orbs, if not more?


Chris also has a sense of humor, so I do not believe you should read this as "its expected you'll save up 1500 orbs before you try to get 6 links."

on the other hand - obtaining a 6L item is supposed to be a long term goal and very hard to achieve.

I think the fusing chance ratio to 6L should be more transparent. At least that way people know the odds.

having the odds unknown to the majority leads to more trying and failing, which leads to more longevity of economy a lot more than you would initially think. when people know the maths, they can prioritize their looting better and more often hit good rolls when they know the odds are on their side. people wasting currency (which you can't really do with gold) is GGG's hidden secret weapon in getting the PoE economy to last 10+ years.

tldr; they will never give the odds to the noobs.
1500 fusing orbs is unreal. It would take several months at 6-8 hours a day to attain that many with my luck. It would be nice to have known the chances of getting 6L I wouldn't have even bothered. I am learning this game is for a different niche of gamer's, well at least the end game. I have been trying to solo the end game and drops make it impossible to get currency, uniques, 6 socket items, 71+ map drops.
