"You've saved up the 1500 or so Orbs of Fusing to potentially six-link an item..."

Clearly the solution is to add yet another orb instead of I don't know, not making 6 linking needing 1500 damn orbs, if not more?

6Ls requiring such a large investment is not a problem. They're the premier end-game gear, best of the best. It is not desirable to make them easier to obtain, and there is no build that requires a 6L to function.

It is easier to change how much you desire a 6L than it is to change the odds of getting a 6L by wishing they were lower.
They WANT it to take ~1500 fusings though. They just don't want to hear people saying how it'll ruin their characters to even try it anymore.

A six-link is the best item you can have. It shouldn't be easier to get it.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
51 in stash saved, 1449 to go
it seems to me like eternal orb is way more useful when used in conjunction with exalted orb.
a bad exalt can all but ruin a potentially top-tier item, but a 5L rolls fairly often from fusing and if you miss you don't ruin the item. If 6L rolled too often then GGG would lose a lot of longevity in their game. but yeah, eternal is reeeealllyy good with exalted.

I agree with this. Very good to use in conjunction with exalts, but pretty useless to save links/colored sockets(unless you have 5 off colors).
There is no reason to use an eternal orb to safeguard a measly 5L. It on average 120 fusings and usually less to 5 link something.

So here's one for this argument. If the game is balanced around players never having 6L items, then by definition they're hugely overpowered. Why is it OK for an obviously overpowered, game-breaking tier of items to exist, but "Path of Life Nodes" or "Path of Ranged" should not?

6L is by no means overpowered, but they do have to have something for people to "go" for. Most people would probably just add too many supports making the mana cost too high, therefore lowering the dps.
