Switching Weapons
I would like to bump this if possible.
I was just playing a character where I have a melee set of weapons (mace/shield) and a ranged set of weapons (bow/quiver). I set my left click for my melee set (I) to Glacial Hammer. If I switched to ranged (II), it set my left click to Normal attack (which is good, since I cannot use Glacial Hammer on a bow), but when I switch back to melee (I), it leaves my left click as Normal attack, and maps Glacial Hammer to middle click (and I had it empty). This is a terrible bug. Each weapon set should allow a completely different map of keys and buttons. Some people say this would allow for too many skills, but if you have some skills that are only attached to weapons or shields (or can only be used by a specific weapon type), then it isn't an issue. Please address this so that I don't have to remap my attack ever time I decide to use my bow. |

(ok, it's not a bug, but a missing feature) I thought that I could use the secondary weapon (skill bar) to enable auras and then switch back to my primary weapons to use my active skills, but apparently this cant be done, because skill slots are the same for both weapon sets and get overwritten each time. This behavior should really be corrected ASAP, because it limits the amount of skills people will use. I like to use as many as possible, not just spam one or two skills all the time (which gets boring) and I don't want to re-map skills all the time (because it confuses your automatism). When you set default attack on middle mouse button, only then will work on left and right mouse buttons. An alternative until fix it.

Why else would we have two weapon sets?
Some skills require certain weapons so it would be really good if the skill bar could remember the skills per weapon. As for the argument that "there would be too many skills", you can see on many YouTube videos that players switch skills all the time even in between each mob. So whether or not we have the skill bar remember skills per weapon, people will still use as many skills as they want. Personally, I switch weapons a lot during combat, and it's cumbersome that I have to switch the skills as I switch weapons. I don't like spamming one or two skills over and over, I like using each skill according to the situation. GGG did a really great job designing the skills, it's a shame not to be able to use them to their full potential as I dream I could :) Sorry about any typos, Android and my fingers don't get along very well, and I figure that a few typos are preferable over stomping on the tablet like a mad person.

Anyone? It's really confusing and frustrating, my skills are always a mess and so my combat is really slow.

I believe what was being said is that if you have a skill from weapon set 1 bound to mouse 3, then when you switch to weapon set 2, then it will also set that skill to mouse 3.
Same goes with a skill on set 1 being assigned to 'Q' - then a skill on set 2 will also be set to 'Q' (This is a guess at the moment - don't have access to the game right now). I know I currently have 2 weapon skills for my bow, but only one of them is on the weapon. I have the 2 skills linked to mouse 3 and 'Q' (I don't like using the wheel on my mouse - not responsive enough for skills). When I switch to my melee weapons, then my 'Q' stays as a ranged skill (presumably because it is on my armor and not my weapon). If I reassign 'Q' to be a melee skill (on armor) then it will remain when I switch back to weapon set 1 (ranged). I haven't had a chance to find a way to make my desired skill choices work with the bindings I want. Personal preference would be to have a different skill set for each weapon set. So all of the skills could potentially be different once I switch weapons. |

Definitely there should be 2 skill sets. Currently it defeats all the purpose of having 2 weapon set. As primary weapons, I use 2 maces. And my primary attack is some kind of double hit. (could not remember name now) And second weapon is a 2 handed mace, and my primary attack is Sweep (the thing that hits everyone around) And these 2 skills are exclusive. And worse is, when you pick one, your character waits doing nothing, since the primary attack is unavailable. Each time i have to manually change. So, I cannot use 2nd weapon set at all, unless I am trying to carry more things to sell...

All I can say is that the skillset issue discussed here makes weapon switching completely unusable for myself and a friend of mine who I regularly party with. We'd only use the backup weapon set to level gems; I use it to move quicker (as my main set has a heavy shield).
