If this is supposed to be work, then why don't I get a paycheck for it?

I have nothing against putting effort into games like RPGs and that part of the fun is putting together a nice build, but it's never good when players have to put effort into a game simply because the game's UI is bad.

Bad is a relative term. Bad implies it does not do what it's intended to do. And it's intention is as Exiled mention, for it to be work.

Think about it logically for a second. ARPG's are all about the grind. Imagine the time you'd have to grind (RNG is RNG, but still), to get that piece of equipment, or that currency you want to trade for. Now, you are trading for it, and although you are losing something for it, you are gaining it, along with any time you yourself might spend to attain it on your own.

My point being, simply that trading saves you time, overall. It's easier to trade something you have and don't want for something you want than grind for it.

If trading makes the game easier, to an extent, then it should be work, in some form. Otherwise it only is positive with no negative. Which GGG prefers in all aspects of the game, apparently.

Edit: And your paycheck is the enjoyment of it, btw. This will just lead into the hardcore vs softcore topic, but that's how it is.

The game just needs an In game item search function with all neccessary filters that directs you to the owner of the item.

This eliminates the horrid trade chat headache

This still keeps the barter system as it is not an auction house.

This is great for both the buyer and the seller.

IT IS NOT AN AUCTION HOUSE

JUST A SEARCH TOOL IN GAME

No, you are completely wrong and full of shit. This is not how the game is designed, this is how the game is because it's in Beta and more advanced trading features aren't implemented, yet.

Also, just because trading, in your opinion, makes the game easier, that doesn't mean that it doesn't take effort. Even with an AH, if you put up your item with too high of a bid price then you're not going to sell it (and you probably lose money on a deposit). If you put it up with too low of a bid price, then you might not get full value for the item (particularly if it's a niche item).

What it looks like GGG is going to do is not even on the level of an AH. It looks like GGG is just going to have public stash tabs, and I assume they would be searchable through the forum with offers and counter-offers being made through PMs or forum posts. The only difference this has from the way trading is, now, is that you don't sit around spamming the shit out of trade chat hoping that someone is online that wants your crappy items.

Oh, and I should mention, we've already established that PoE is stupidly easy. The idea that GGG would artificially create "challenge" by just making people waste time in something not even approaching an IRC chat might be good enough for a shit-brained fanboy, but I'm going to insist that GGG actually designs a quality game with a satisfying difficulty resulting from gameplay, not bullshit like this.

... Oh, God, I'm sorry I questioned your mighty authority and intelligence.

Yeah I stopped reading after that. You are just a sad person who has become bitter from this thread. You should just stop. Now. For your own good.

I can't believe this thread lasted this long, and people are still repeating the same crap.

And to anyone who might reply or speak to him, don't. Just don't. He's not interested in any form of discussion as he denies any other opinion but his own as "full of shit" and anyone who says it as "completely wrong".

TL;DR, He's a dick. Don't talk to him. Let the troll die.

You should. Because the guy is right.

*sigh*

Opinions are like ... well there's nothing everyone has anymore. Oh well. You get the idea.

You're allowed to question it based on the assumption you know what the fuck you're talking about.

You are.

That makes it more convenient to trade. You still have to do the work of finding someone to trade with.

You were originally advocating an AH. You yourself said the AH from Diablo 3 wasn't bad, in and of itself. That is completely different.

Now tell me, who is the troll here?
