FFA loot system has cause me to stop playing in pug groups and now is hurting playing in groups period. There is no reason for the FFA loot system. It doesn't help the game in anyway.
Please get rid of the ffa loot system before it chases away more players.
I'm writing this cause 2 of my friends just quit cause of the loot system.
If your friends quit a quality game like this simply because of the loot system, they didnt like the game anyway. I dont like the loot system, but it doesnt mean I'm going to quit. Either your friends have no drive to play this fantastic game, or they didnt like the game. Or both.
Well that is your opinion and you are wrong. I told you why they quit. They want to play a team game and not have to worry about people poaching the loot. Plus there are plenty of fine games for them to play.
I wouldn't call this a quality game. It is very much a beta game. It is fun, but far from perfect and the loot system is part of the problem.

My only complaint is:
The name who was SUPPOSED to get that item disappears after the timer runs out.
If we want to run a "Fair loot" system, the tools are already there, could you just leave the name tag associated with the item even after the timer runs out?

Not meant to be that. It is meant for people with ping/fps issues to at least be able to grab something within the FFA environment. If you miss grabbing an item before the timer it becomes fair game to anyone in the party. Most people are delusioned that the allocation is to call out drops for players when that isn't the case.
If that was the case the timer wouldn't exist and other players would not be able to grab the loot.
Everyone is bitching about something that it isn't meant to be in the first place.
Not that I oppose balanced options, but currently that is the state of the game.

Correct, but it is generally a good idea to give player choice/freedom of choice.

The amount of ignoring from GGG going on in this particular thread is staggering, especially compared to how they approach everything else. And this is by far the loudest "feature" discussion.

Its because instanced loot is not important. Think about it....
You have the option to play alone or team up with friends/like minded players to farm. Actually, farming alone is always the best option.
The only real reason to ally with random public players is for fun and exp. Swarming over loot like rabid vultures is all part of the fun.
When playing pub games you should expect nothing. Lower the bar and you will seldom be disapointed.
